Reviews of Cocina Medina Mexican Restaurant
"I had been here once before Covid and couldn't remember my impression, but my wife did, and she was humoring me. Opens 4pm--8pm, we arrived 5:30 on a Tuesday. The bar was busy and a few tables had a few customers. She ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup-- SALTY! and the chicken wasn't tender. Ordered the Chips and Salsa and additional Guacamole($6.99). The Guac was more mashed avocado than Guacamole-- no flavor. I squeezed the lemon slices from our waters and with some salt and pepper it was more tolerable. Chips were fresh and I liked the roasted salsa-- but, no spice. The Spanish Rice wasn't hot and would have tasted better. The beans were hot as well as the Enchiladas and Tamales-- but again, the chicken wasn't tender. My wife looked at the double-wrapped Beef Taco and the perfect- sized shells looked and tasted store-bought. She ate one third and put it down. I tried a few bites and the beef was flavorless and cold and I couldn't eat it. The restaurant should come with a disclaimer: "We do not season our food, use chili powder, or use Chile's usually associated with Mexican cuisine." Now I remember the restaurant, $60 too late. We left food on the table. The Server was nice and professional but no name tag to recognize her."
"We recently had the incredible opportunity to visit Cocina Medina, a local gem that truly captures the essence of authentic Mexican cuisine. We even featured them on our Living in East County channel (@TheBestOfEastCountyLiving)! From the moment we walked in, the vibrant atmosphere and warm greetings made us feel right at home. The real magic, though, began when we tasted their dishes. Each bite of their signature tacos was a journey through rich flavors and fresh ingredients. Their homemade salsa? Simply out-of-this-world! It had the perfect balance of spice and tang, making us reach for more with every dip. But what really sets Cocina Medina apart is their dedication to tradition, quality and of course, the family-like atmosphere. If you're looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience that's bursting with flavor and heart, Cocina Medina is the place to be. Don't just take our word for it, check out our full experience on our YouTube channel and see why Cocina Medina should be your next dinner out! @TheBestOfEastCountyLiving"
"Went for drinks and dinner with my son. Sat right away place was packed. Service was spot on and fast. Definitely coming back. Only con is they now charge for chips and salsa plus refill"
"Food was really good. One of the authentic Mexican food restaurants with descent pricing. Their wet burritos are real good! They have a wide variety of drinks as well. Ambience was descent for $ restaurant."
"One of my favorite restaurants ever! I love Cocina Medina all of their delicious food. I really recommend the steak fajitas, they are my favorite. Salsa and chips are provided. The staff are very friendly, kind, and speak both English and Spanish. The decor in the restaurant is very pretty as well, with a wall of photos that include the first $100 tip, first margarita ordered, and the first person to quit! Highly recommend to eat here if you're in Antioch :)"
