"We went here for breakfast and got Carnitas and Huevos Con Chorizo. Both dishes were delicious. We were surprised to see the giant tortillas on the side but we were not complaining :) The refried beans however had an odd texture that we didn't want to eat. The staff was very polite and friendly. We forgot to add coffee to our order and so when we went to place a separate order for coffee, we were not charged for it. This was very kind of them. The coffee we got was hot water with instant coffee mix and creamers on the side. This is a good place for a quick, tasty bite."
"Lopez Taqueria in Sunnyvale next to Popeye’s opened recently. It is a small restaurant with 10 tables indoors and none outdoors. When I was there for noon lunch, 3 tables had customers but they had a lot of takeout business. The problem was the temperature inside was very cold. Outdoors was 52F. Indoors must have been about 65F so the other customers were eating with their winter coats on. The problem is that cold air cools off hot food. I urge the Lopez owner or manager to require that the temperature be set to 70 or 71 or 72 degrees whenever the place is open so the food stays hot and customers can take off their coats. I ordered two tacos, rice, and water. The tacos were tasty. The rice was plain, as is expected. The meal included a small amount of chips and salsa. The salsa was different than most restaurants but I preferred it, although the portion was too tiny. Customers order at the front cashier and the food is brought to one’s table. The cashier was cordial. I like that the electronic menu is brightly lit and easy to read. There is plenty of free street level parking in the outdoor strip mall in front of the restaurant. If I knew that the restaurant would be warm inside, I would return and try the very large beef soup, which the cashier said was their best soup and cost about $20, I think."
"Carnitas super burrito was loaded with meat and tasted great. Good salsa and the chili oil was flavorful as well. The shrimp burrito was very good too. This is my new go-to burrito place."
"Stopped by to give the tacos a try for lunch. Picked Al pastor and Chile verde for my two and thought both had great flavor! The tortillas were pan fried a bit so it felt like it could hold the filling more when you picked it up, and the texture of the tortilla complemented the tacos well. Loved how they finely cut the onions and that texture as well! Also a huge fan of the green sauce that they have and added it to both tacos. Can’t wait to come back and try some of their other food menu!"
"Tender but slightly crunchy tortillas served in a thoughtful paper wrap that still allows easy access with some of the most scrumptious carnitas I have ever tasted, as well as beautifully seasoned rich carne asada. I almost walked by this place but the staff were very kind and the food is swinging way above its weight class for the neighborhood."
