Reviews of Armadillo Willy's Texas BBQ
"Great service, great food. Order a 3 meat plate with pulled pork, brisket and baby back ribs. The brisket and the pulled pork was an amazing and the ribs was ok. As a side, I ordered a mac & Cheese and potato salad and both were delicious. Highly recommend this spot."
"ALRIGHT! I got the baby back ribs, pulled pork, cornbread muffin, and bacon Mac n cheese! Let’s start with the Mac n cheese! This was straight gassss. So good! The Mac n cheese was so creamy and cheesy and the bacon had such nice meaty flavor and complemented the Mac n cheese so well. The cornbread muffin was ok because it was cold and dry and they forgot my cinnamon butter! But it was still pretty good. The meats what good flavor but they were cold and there was barely any meat on my ribs! The bbq sauce was absolutely phenomenal I believe it was made in house! The pulled pork was somewhat tender and had a nice smoky flavor but it wasn’t that special. The ribs were ok, but there wasn’t that much meat! This was still a great amount of food and I’m feeling a little bloated right now! The service was nice and the ambiance give you a nice vibe unlike any o the restaurant feeling full American! Overall I wouldn’t go again, but I would reccomend Armadillo Willy’s just for their sides, so enjoy!"
"I had not been here in many years, but had fond memories of going in the past and enjoying their sandwiches and fries. That memory has been shattered by the absolute mediocrity of my visit. The food was just okay, see picture for uninspired presentation; I just didn't remember it being this careless. I did order it without sauce, though, because I don't like most BBQ sauce; in the past they had a nice yellow Carolina-style sauce in bottles at the tables, which I really liked. Those are long gone and the cashier had no idea what I was talking about. That being the case, I had a dry sandwich with was mediocre. The real disappointment was the fries. They used to have really good fries! But they've changed them and they were okay but, you guessed it, mediocre. Once I had my food, I had to really hunt for a clean table, which was weird because there were maybe only 6 other people in the place. Almost every table had dishes or cups or food or unidentifiable stickiness on them. I finally found a mostly clean one and was able to make it suitable with a napkin, which thankfully are not in short supply at the tables. Pretty sure that will be my last visit because it wasn't worth what I paid for it and just tasted...mediocre."
"Everything that we got, were tasty. Garlic Parmesan fries portion was big, lots of crushed garlic chunks. Cajun salmon burger was juicy, crunchy onions added interesting texture. Cajun fries side was good too."
"My brother was craving a burger so we headed to Armadillo Willy's. They have a nice selection of BBQ ribs and meat but their burgers are done well and tasty. We chose garlic fries for $1 extra and a side of onion rings. We found an open table, picked up our sauces and drinks and waited for a text for pick up. The burger was pretty large so we split the meal. It was juicy and fries and onion rings were crispy. Service is nice, if you have leftovers, you can request a box at pick up counter. We tried sausage and pulled pork, it seemed pretty dry and overcooked. The corn bread is tasty but it seems those got smaller for the price."
