"When this place is having a good day they can cook the best pork sisig in the Bay in my opinion! Combination of soft and slightly chewy and not rock hard. The problem is you're rolling a dice to see whether they'll cook a good batch or give you a nearly inedible jerky-like hard sisig. I don't want to play this game anymore. Sorry pass!"
"Our party of five had a nice weekend lunch at Parekoy. We ordered shrimp sinigang, tocino, pork sisig, lechon kawali, and dinugan with a bowl each of steamed and garlic rice. Everything was good, but we did find the sinigang a little too salty. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was helpful as it was our first time visiting Parekoy. Overall a nice Filipino restaurant. I will be back to check out their all-day breakfast."
"SF East Bay. I wanted to like this restaurant so much but no such luck: * crispy binagoongan - ironic how this dish could have used more, you guessed it, bagoong * pork sisig - I’ve definitely had my share of forgettable sisig but a bad one? Unfortunately, Parekoy you have this honor. While the flavor was there, the meat was so tough we felt like we were eating jerky * pinakbet - the only dish we liked from our takeout, authentic tasting Disappointing overall & no repeat visit."
"Our first at this place and all the food was delicious will definitely come back whenever we r in the area"
"I never really ate Filipino food out because we always ate mom's cooking. It's great to see more Filipino restaurants popping up and this little place had some delicious food. We had the kaldereta, lumpia Shanghai, pork sisig, lechon kawali, with garlic rice, and then turon and halo halo for dessert. Everything was tasty and came out piping hot. The service was super friendly and they were celebrating their 6th anniversary. Business was good with most tables occupied and we saw some people getting take out too. The kaldereta was rich and tasty, just like I had growing up. The lechon was nice and crispy. The sisig was almost as crispy as the lechon so we may not have ordered both had I known they would be so similar in texture, but you can't really go wrong with too much crispy pork."
