"Little place attached to a AmPm but a good restaurant for sure! Staff was super busy and a sign asked for patience with them so they must be short staffed regularly, but they still did a good job and the wait wasn't long. The food was really good and we would eat there again (if we lived anywhere near one). The key lime pie shake was a little disappointing in lime flavor, but a good shake. I bet the other flavors are great. I had a build your own chicken sandwich and it was great. Burger also good and fries were OK. Chicken strips were really good and great quality chicken for sure. Good ehite meat. We'd try the fried pickles next time. Only downside is it's definitely pricey. More than just the rising prices everywhere. Our meal really added up."
"As a middle-age person, I get to listen to people worry about their weight all day long not me, I don’t worry about my weight I already am fat. What’s there to worry about? But let me tell you something that I enjoy a good old-fashioned milkshake. And I felt that God and country answered with way back burger now this way out location Doesn’t make it easy to find but once you stop, you won’t regret it one bit. The service is wonderful the lobby is clean and for an old fat guy like me I’ll be enjoying getting fat or drinking this milkshake. I ordered the cinnamon toast crunch when I get fatter? I’ll try the red velvet. Staff is hard-working. I hopt you enjoy this place as much as I do."
"I really, really wanted to love this place. Great reviews for a middle-of-nowhere burger joint attached to a gas station market? Sounds great! Unfortunately, my first visit left a lot to be desired, even with an appropriate level of expectations. Before anything else: Absolutely do not order extra cheese. That's a 75¢ scam for suckers on the road who they figure will never be seen again. Of course, I made the mistake of ordering extra cheese. What I got was a thin smear of cheddar that was so thin I could see most of the burger through it, and so small that it didn't reach the edge of the patty (unlike literally every picture of cheese on a burger in the place). Yeah, I know the pictures lie, but I had to literally deconstruct my burger to verify there was any cheese at all. And when I inquired about how this meager smear was supposed to be two slices, the line cook overheard my question and immediately protested that she "put two slices on that order" (apparently psychically identifying my specific order out of the dozens in play). The inconsistency did not end there. The bun was smashed flatter than the ones at Mickey D's. Again, nothing at all like the fluffy roll-like buns in the pictures. (And again, I understand how advertising pictures work, but this is an entirely different level.) In addition, the BBQ sauce was a small, thin blob soaked into the center of the bun, not at all dripping out the sides as shown in several photos. All of this is unfortunate because the flavor was excellent for the approximate quarter of the burger that had all of the ordered ingredients. It's hard to make a smash burger juicy and flavorful instead of dry and bland, but they've perfected the method. The lettuce and tomato were crisp and fresh. The BBQ sauce was appropriately tangy, for the small bit provided. The "extra" cheddar cheese was disappointing as noted, but at least the smashed bun wasn't stale. The fries were okay, very mid-range "diner" quality for natural-cut fries. A good accompaniment to the burger but probably not worth ordering on their own. (There's a Mickey D's for that not far away.) The chicken tenders were a real highlight. Thin but juicy and flavorful. If I return, I would be more likely to order the chicken tenders than a burger. Lastly, the shakes are top-notch. They had better be for $8 each. At least the shakes (and the chicken tenders) lived up to the hype. This would have been a 5-star experience if I had actually received the extra cheese (-1 star for lying) and more than a smudge of BBQ sauce (-1 star for being stingy with a condiment)."
"Needed a quick bite on way home to OC so we stopped here based on all the great reviews and boy are we glad! The burgers are awesome - made hot and juicy and loaded with everything (lettuce, tomato grilled onions, pickles)! The Cajun Tators and Onion rings were good, not great but they made the meal complete LoL We finished it off with an Oreo cookie milkshake - so good, better than in-n-out"
"Don't think of this as fast food. Service was OK. They were kinda busy at 2:30pm, but minimal friendliness when taking order and very slow to get food (15 min). And not a single THANK YOU from any employee...and there were several working today. When order came up, I asked if there were napkins already in the bag, and the guy said nothing and pointed to a napkin canister that happened to be empty...so thanks for that, ha. We have plenty of napkins in the car... Food was pricey... ~$50 for 4 burgers & fries. Now this is a step up from other fast food burgers, but still not sure the value was worth the price. Quality of meat was not the highest but decent, but toppings were fresh ingredients so we enjoyed that. Better than McD's quality for certain..."
