"Low quality fish cuts - below my sashimi standards. We had the Kaisen omakase. Price was $99+ tax. The crab soup tasted like water with artificial flavors. The toro was too fatty that I couldn’t eat it. They also gave me a very terrible cut of fish along with the fish skin. Service was ok but not as good as any other omakase place. I have had $99 dollar Kaiden omakase in another restaurant, Hana Izumi. The food and service there were way better than this restaurant."
"A top marks sushi place. Not too crowded, very intentional selection. I encourage you to try the nigiri, and the karage and carpacio were also excellent. I had an absolutely wonderful time."
"I have grown up with exposure to sushi from a young age. What's important is the quality of the fish and the selection. Akami has gone above and beyond in every feature as well as impeccable customer service. The chef puts thought and care into every dish I've eaten. I value being able to come back to a place I enjoy - rather than just being there to eat. I enjoy the creation process for each plate. I highly encourage both novice and and advanced sushi eaters to make this a part of their sushi restaurant portfolio."
"Food taste fine. But basically the taste of heavy sauces; pretty much overwhelmed the taste of meat. Meat quality is not as good for the price. Uni is a bit disappointing: loose pieces not so fresh, with heavy wasabi."
"A hidden little place with high quality food. The nigiri was fantastic and actually adhered to the rice. The specialty rolls had so much body and flavor, and nothing fell apart while you were eating it. We had some sea urchin as well and found it to be quite fresh. We very much enjoyed this place. Don't be thrown off by the fabric covering the door when you arrive. The fabric-covered door is your way into this little sushi-serving Narnia."
