"The first thing you notice when you walk in Angler is the smell of the fires. The smoke, the food, and the ambiance makes this place a very comfortable spot to sit and eat dinner. I didn't have much time when I was there so I ordered the tuna appetizer, the broccolini, and two scallops. The tuna appetizer was lethally good coming in a small dish with a gelatin flavored with sake and seaweed, and the rice crisp that came with it was perfect. When I ordered the broccolini I was expecting just vegetables grilled over the open flames, but was pleasantly surprised to get a dish that was a combination of broccolini, seeds and nuts, and microgreens mixed in an oil I can't quite place but the whole combination was delicious. The scallops were served in shell grilled with butter and sake and you have to taste them to believe how good they were. Finally, for dessert, I had the chocolate bar which was a caramel coated chocolate and peanut butter thing that was soft and delicious in ways that I was not expecting. I would come back and eat just this dessert. The restaurant itself is in a tourist area, but I would not call Angler a tourist restaurant, although there were many visitors there from out of town. This is definitely a restaurant. I will be back too. Enjoy!"

"Amazing restaurant that deserves more fame (although it has a well deserved Michelin star). Perfectly executed dishes, without fuss, modern and timeless at the same time. The whole sea bram, Parker rolls and the radicchio were flawless. The dishes are not “insta friendly” as in they are simple, presented in classic and classy China, it’s all about the produce in the best possible way. The service was great and what you would expect and it’s perfect for any occasion. I loved the wine selection as well and they have a yummy cocktail list. The room is beautiful with the wood, animals and views of the bay and bay bridge. Highly recommend !"

"Really liked this place. Good food, nice ambiance and friendly service. We had a table with a view of the bay bridge which was quite nice. The embered oysters and the sea bream was a highlight for me; the radicchio was very fun to eat as you need a big knife to cut it open and it was super good too. The potatoes, scallop crudo and hen of the woods mushroom were very nice but not outstanding. The sundae for dessert was super tasty but a tiny bit too heavy. Would totally return just for the embered oysters!"
