"I can’t say enough about how good Peruvian food is. The Saltado Vegetales is a gastronomical experience if you ask me. Mixto is brilliant. I came here with my family after a long day of park hopping with our toddler and our waitress was brilliant. She was patient and helped my wife pick something she’d love on the menu. I highly recommend coming here when you get a chance as the beach is a stones throw away so you can enjoy a nice walk after your lunch or dinner."
"TLDR: same owner as Franco’s Latin Table in West Portal, delicious food! The dishes we got were awesome! The mariscada (seafood stew) was creamy with coconut milk like a curry, and had plenty of seafood. The pork is super tender and the steak was delicious and well cooked as well! A lot of the items could be made gluten free as well!"
"I came here for a late meal, and ordered branzino with seafood stew. The fish was quite a bit smaller than what I was expecting for $36, and the bowl of seafood stew I was told would come with the meal was actually just that small circle of shellfish enclosed by the branzino. With that said, the seafood stew was pretty good. The main dish, branzino, however, was undercooked, which is why there were two different photos of the same dish. Service was good from one server, but not much from the other. The waiter asked if I needed some chips, while the waitress simply brought them and told me that the sauce was a bit spicy. Little difference I know, but I felt more welcome by the waitress. And also, although the waiter was the one who took my order and served the undercooked fish, the waitress was the one hwo kept apologizing: I said it was no big deal, because neither the waiter nor the waitress prepared the meal, obviously. Overall, I think if food quality can improve, I would definitely recommend this place, since the view can be pretty good in the day."
"Overall 4.5: Food 4.5; Dishes were tasty. Suggest having kids order from the main menu. Our go-to staple dishes, Mixto added their own unique spin to it. Service 5; Server was very personable and attentive. Atmosphere 4; Liked new decor. Suggest changing how the bathroom door closes or add a partition. Also was shocked to see automatic gratuity added for parties of 6 or more but pleased that it was less than what we'd normally tip. We'll be back for the crispy calamari and to try the ceviches."
"New Peruvian Latin restaurant in the Sunset. We tired the ceviche chino which was quite good. We also had the steak salad and fish tacos which was okay. Service was nice and would come back again. Pro tip: they have a kids menu."
