"I'll be dreaming of the fried chicken until I can come back and eat it again. SO GOOD!! Everyone was so nice here, fast service."
"Very nice and chill bonchon. The service was great and most of the food was amazing. The chicken combo and sliders were top tier but the fries… I mean bonchon fries are some of my favorite but this time it was bad. And by bad I mean horrible. They were like overdone but cold steak fries. Not the flaky crispy outside and soft inside, hot fries I know and love. They’re like fries you’d expect to get at Dennys. I’m not sure what happened but everything else was good. Popcorn shrimp wasn’t great but decent. I didn’t expect a lot to begin with. While disappointing, the server was cool and really friendly. I’d definitely go to another bonchon if you like the fries, I assume most people would."
"Updated review 8/8/2023: My friend told me about the new "Korean BBQ" flavor at Bonchon and I came over to try it. It was delicious. Since it was just me this time, I only ordered the small combo (6 wings, 3 drumsticks) $16.55. It was sweet with a hint of BBQ flavor. There's something special about that signature Bonchon crunch, made from overly thick batter. Surprisingly, there weren't any weird oil aftertaste that linger after eating a meal accustomed with oily fried foods. I did drink a lot of water though. Well done staff at Bonchon. Again. I do love their fried chicken. Original review: 8:45pm on a Friday night. The chicken crispiness varies by Bonchon locations. This one ranks in the middle. My friends say the downtown SF location is the crispiest. We ate at the restaurant so, it is not due to to-go lead time. I never knew Bonchon had table service. We usually ordered to-go or eat outside at their San Mateo location. We started with a large soju $20 and a blue moon beer $5.50. Most of the soju favors were out so we resorted to mango. The soju was not strong and contained mostly juice. The wait time goes by faster because there are TV's and alcohol. For the starters, we got the popcorn shrimp $12.75 and zucchini fries $8.55. These were OK. They weren't flavorful. I would have preferred some popcorn chicken from Quickly's but they were not taking orders after 8:30pm. For the main dish, we ordered medium combo half and half $30. We asked for extra spicy and Bonchon did not disappoint. The fried chicken was great. So crispy! Some of the soy garlic chicken was too salty though. Service was alright. This meal put big smiles across our faces :)"
"First time here, visiting with my kids for my daughter's graduation. Ordered the spicy chicken tacos, which were really good. Also got boneless chicken and chicken tenders. Their seasoned fries are a must have. Good portion sizes. I left feeling full. Will definitely go check out their San Diego location when I get home. Their staff was very friendly. We didn't wait very long for our food and it came out hot and fresh. Thanks for a great experience!"
"It was a chance discovery of this new Bonchon outlet in South San Francisco... and a pleasant one at that. If you like Korean Fried Chicken, this place will be an absolute delight. The restaurant is clean, the service is prompt and friendly. The menu isn't overly extensive but suffices the craving for Korean. We ordered a combo of Soy Garlic and Spicy fried chicken, an Avocado Salmon Ball (1,000+ calories!) and Japchae. Couldn't fault anything of what we ordered!"
