KAN KIIN BRUNCH & THAI EATERY

"Super cute place for a fancy Asian fusion brunch, but be prepared to pay $$$ and service is a bit slow. This spot is low key since it's hidden in a strip mall near the Westlake shopping center, but it feels upscale and lush with the green vibes once you're inside. I would recommend to make a reservation if you want to be seated immediately on a weekend. This restaurant is also pretty kid-friendly, about half the tables had a baby or toddler in a high chair! The samosa appetizer was surprisingly tasty: smooth filling and flaky pastry crust. We also tried the fish cake appetizer, I would skip that next time. I got the matcha buttermilk pancakes, which only had a hint of matcha flavor. $6 felt ridiculous for 1 slice of bacon, but it was thiccccc cut and actually the caramelization was pretty good. My husband got the pork belly rice porridge which came with mushrooms, a poached egg and some fried doughnut (just like congee), it was much better once he added some spice."

"Best pad see ew I've had in a long long time. The scenery and vibes were chill and warm. Def love Thai food since it's so flavorful, glad to see that there's a good Thai spot near home. We ordered pad Thai, pad see ew, fried chicken, greens don yellow curry, and fried spring rolls. They had one server who took our order, the food came out quickly even though there were 3-4 other parties dining there. Def will come back."

"The service here was amazing! We came as a big party of 13, they were able to add some extra seats for us last minute. The food was great. I loved their corn appetizer lol!"

"This place was ok! You'll never find parking so drive past all the double parkers and head straight for the parking area near Home Depot. The place was near empty on Saturday morning at 11:00AM, but started getting full by the time we were done. Food presentation is ig worthy and dishes came out pretty quick. But servers don't check up and sometimes ignore you. Thai Iced Tea ($6): Bit too sweet. Could've been my fault because I asked for no ice. Brussel Sprouts & French Fries ($11): Not 50/50 like the menu picture. We got a bed of french fries and a sprinkle of brussel sprouts leaves. Fries were nice and crispy though. Drunken Noodles (with Tofu $16): Spicy! Tasted like any other pad kee mow. Could've used more basil. Steak & Eggs ($28): They didn't ask how we wanted the steak cooked so we told them medium rare. It came out dry. Kan Kiin Toast ($18): Delicious french toast! Probably the best thing I ate."

"Perhaps we came on an off day. We had reservations - on a Sunday. Sundays are busy. Food was good, it came out in a timely manner. I would like to go back to try more but you were missing staff to have made this a more pleasant dinning experience. Perhaps I should have just ordered take out?? Your water cups are small, you are busy. Staff did not have enough time to manually refill it - leave a refill bottle for all the tables - get bigger glasses. Automatically give knives to guest that require knives unless we were suppose we fork and spoon he benedict. Less back and forth means more time to do other task."
