Reviews of Goodwill Retail Store
"They yell at you when you are trying to help them by donating. I'm trying to keep you in a job while you are stressing everyone out by yelling!! Do your job, and be grateful that you have one. Some are not as fortunate!"
"Generic goodwill with overpriced goods. Donation employees are always rude. Today the cashier asked for help with 5 people in line and more stacking up and a return to be made. Another employee, assuming the manager, came from another area and told her she could handle it then went back behind the door. Don't be surprised if you see lines of 10 customers and one cashier."
"I was ready with a shopping cart to buy! I admit I had more than 6 items going into the dressing room but when u have 2 dressing rooms u don't want people waiting! the lady behind the counter yelled okay! first off you don't need to yell cause I won't be so friendly! then when I came out with all my stuff she watching me like I was going to steal something! I'm the first person that will admit what I bring in I bring out! that's my duty! but with all the attitude! I left the cart on the side and left and I wont be back! there's another one in Mt juliet that much bigger and better! I didn't even need the stuff I just came in to see what I could find! I wont be treated like that when I know I do the right thing! I wonder why this store has a 3.8! and why racks aren't filled! sooner than later this store will have a 2.0! the way it's going!"
"Becoming overpriced. This is a Dollar Tree decoration listed for twice the price. Also, the color tag deals have become laughable. There is literally nothing that matches the tag deals."
"Wow - came on here to make a review about my last 2 donation experiences and it seems like I am not the only one with the this experience. I have made a couple of donations in the last couple of months and overlooking the fact that I’m pregnant… the guy at the drop off has been so rude and unhelpful each time. I thought it might have been a 1 off so didn’t review the first time, but for it to happen again and then be an obvious reoccurring issue is just frustrating. At other Goodwill’s, they let you use the carts and usually help you unload. I was literally yelled at when I grabbed a cart to move things from my car and no one came outside. I also didn’t realize I was going to be expected to sort the items in the box I was dropping off… I have never had to do that at any other goodwill in Ohio, Arizona or Tennessee… I guess I wouldn’t mind if there wasn’t a guy standing there barking orders at me. I definitely wouldn’t mind if someone was helping me… Today he just grabbed a bunch of stuff off the top of the box I was bringing in and he got all pissy when something broke… my response was “well, it’s not like you were being careful… I did just tell you it was a mixed box” He seemed only to care about how it “makes it easier for everyone if they don’t have to sort it” - maybe that’s true HOWEVER donations are what help keep Goodwill employees employed… it’s what helps them fulfill their mission… honestly I don’t ever care to drop off anything here again NOR do I care to shop there ever again because of my past 2 interactions with the employee at the donation entrance. Every other place we donate, people help me unload the car - if anyone is looking for other places to donate I would strongly recommend the the 7th Day Adventist Family Resource Center in Madison (also a thrift store) as well as the Nashville Rescue Mission Downton - You can look them up prior to carting donations down there and expect to be greeted but kind, helpful and gracious volunteers and employees."
