"My husband and I enjoyed an after moving house dinner here for the first time today. I selected the $30 3 course menu after asking the server if it would be possible to substitute the sugary desserts for a small portion of fruit for medical reasons, to which she agreed that would be fine. The food arrived and it was very good and we both enjoyed our selections. After clearing my husbands dishes she the come back with the small fruit portion and said I can’t substitute the dessert and have charged you $3 or $4 for the fruit. Still not clearing my dishes, she offer no other part for the 3 course menu as she had charged us for the fruit. So my 3 course meal was in fact 2 courses as no other course was offered but I was still charge for the 3 course menu AND the fruit portion she had agreed upon before I had finalised my order. Will we go back? Maybe, I’m not one to dismiss something completely out of hand but I do feel a little hard done by as I had asked and she had agreed before I had ordered to the substitution. Oh… and she still did not clear my dishes by the time we paid and left. Thinking this was not the best way to treat first timers."
"Firs thing anyone should know, is I have worked in the hospitality industry for many years. I came to eat with my mom and Grandma. I was excited to go to Mimi's because I hadn't been in so long (plus I used to work at the one in Dublin a long time ago), but upon entering the establishment, the manager was not very welcoming. She seemed like she had an attitude. I asked for a booth (only because my grandma prefers a booth) and I swear, it's like she was irritated that I asked, so she put us right next to the bathroom, which I noticed right away but didn't say anything. I just went with it because it's already hard enough getting my grandma from a to b. When I go to sit at the booth, I realize the booth doesn't fit me well. I just dealt with it even though it was a tight fit. I didn't notice right away but later I saw There were greasy prints on the back of the booth and the condiments were filthy looking. Doesn't look like they've been cleaned in several days. (Pics below) The service wasn't great and the food was horrible. I ordered the French Quarter Burger and when it came out, it was so sloppily put together and when I picked up the burger, the bread wasn't grilled on the underside. The server was not very attentive and it was hard to get her attention, since we were in the back, in the corner and she barely ever looked our way. I had to speak up loud which I don't want to have to do, with other patrons there. It Took very long to get refills or even mustard with my burger, because of this. I told the server about the burger it and she said she would get her manager. The manager came and asked what was wrong and I told her, and she said, "What would you like me to do?" In my mind, I just wanted her to say she would take it off, without asking me what I wanted her to do. Obviously, there is a problem with the food quality. She didn't seem to be genuinely concerned which is a concern all on its own but judging by how the rest of the place looks...you be the judge. Just...overall, a horrible experience at this location. Mimi's used to be so good. Not so much anymore. Also they don't offer bread or carrot raisin bread, included with the meal, like they used to. That was something I was really looking forward to. Now they have carrot raisin "Madeline's" you can add to your bill. Bring back the BBQ Meatloaf and garlic red skin mashed pots please !"
"Food is really good. Very small portions though. I ordered the corn beef and eggs. No exaggeration. Maybe 5 bites of the cornbeef. I ask the waitress if I could get a proper serving. She ended up bring some out that looked like a normal amount. Then charged me $6.99 extra. I asked her about it. She said what they gave me was normal. Not very good English either. So basically charged me almost $20 for 2 eggs and some breakfast potatoes. So almost $30 for what was a normal size plate. I also ordered the pot pie the day before. Good, but still very undersized for the pricing."
"The food was good, the people were friendly, we had a nice time as a family, there was no waiting time in the morning. tried the crepes with fruits and cream cheese they were very good."
"Awful food! I ordered breakfast for a Friday morning at work and received burnt toast, I ask for eggs over easy and they came burnt and the yokes were hard cooked! My co-worker ordered an omelet and the mushrooms were raw. Her toast wasn't even toasted. Worst food we have ever had!"
