"I recently ordered a Greek pizza from this place with high hopes, but unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst pizza I've had in a while. The noticeable flaw was the overwhelming abundance of toppings. It seemed like a case of quantity over quality, as they piled on so many toppings that the flavors became a chaotic mishmash. Maybe the positive reviews are from folks who care about filling their stomachs rather than enjoying a well-crafted pizza. They basically put a few pounds of meat, cheese, big slices of tomato, and olives on a bread an call it a pizza. Seriously look at the picture, burnt gyro, raw big slices of tomato, whole olives, and a pile of cheese. At $37 for a medium pizza, one would expect a special pizza, but what I received was far from it."

"The first thing you notice is the HUGE menu! It literally covers half the table! The other thing you notice is there's pretty much a photo of every dish on the menu (very inciting and mouth-watering)! The pizza is GREAT! Very tasty (and plentiful) toppings, crust is also quite good! Unlike many other places, these guys understand the pizza dough should taste good too. It's not there just as a place-holder for the toppings, it should be contributing as well. Also had the chicken cacciatore (delicious)! My friend had the New York steak and gave me a piece to try. That was good too! We vowed to come back for lunch sometime because their sandwiches look delicious! One thing to note, in my experience, many Italian places only offer one or two veal choices. Rainbow offers FIVE or SIX!!! There's something for everyone here and all delicious!!! It's a great place for a big family or large party because the portions are as big as the menu! I'll be going back again and again to try more of their dishes!"

"This place has mom and pop written all over it. Prices are extremely reasonable and the pizza was outstanding. We went with all meat pizza, I think it was #3, we were not disappointed. Beers were around $5... Where have you seen that in the bay area. Enjoy this golden little gem."

"My wife and I love Rainbow Pizza. We know it more for Greek food than for the pizzas. However, the Greek Pizza is fantastic. From the outside, the modest storefront in the serene hills above San Mateo might fool you; but this place is bustling inside. It is always busy, and things move quickly. If you’re a large group, it will take a while to get a seat. If there are only 1 to 2 people in your party, you’ll probably get seated pretty quickly. Many to-go orders are going out the front door as well. The service here is always friendly and very efficient. The menu is enormous. We typically stick to the Greek Gyro meat salad or the Greek Gyro with fries; those are our favorites. We always leave happy. The Gyros are perfectly prepared; simply put, they are THE BEST gyros. If you're in the mood for a salad, the Greek Gyro meat salad is equally perfect."
