"Wow. This spot is still around. I remember coming here 25 years ago with my friends. We used to have a studio where we used to create all sorts of electronic music. We used to take a pizza break after a long session. Glad this place is still here on Haight street."
"Thought about rating 4 stars, only because they do not offer beer, but changed my mind because they recommended that we walk across the street and grab whatever we wanted from the liquor store. This place does feel like a typical NY pizza joint, right in the heart of Haight. It’s got that gritty street vibe, with amateur photos of all the celebs that have walked through the door and had a slice of their pie. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had potato pizza, though they should add some Gorgonzola cheese (or more of it). Tasty pizza, quick and convenient, no fuss. Just a good old fashion pizza joint that sticks to doing what they do best. It’s the only pizza we had while in SF, so I can’t say if it’s the best, but I will happily go back. And it’s next to Amoeba Music, so win-win. Update: We ended up finding what we believe to be the best pizza in SF (that we tried anyway), at Tony G's SLICE HOUSE just a few blocks from this Escape from NY location. It's also on Haight St, closer to Ashbury. Both place are good, but Slice House for the win!"
"Best Pizza in the neighborhood 100% better then north beach pizza I be happy if the price little bit lower but overall the best also customer service was good we are in an out pizza was hot I be back definitely thank you so much best in the neighborhood"
"Solid slice of pepperoni pizza. The slice is thin but holds up sturdily with one hand. It isn’t too greasy (blessing and curse) and the crust has a nice flavor (subtle sweetness). The worker was very polite and friendly. Sort of pricey, but welcome to San Francisco. Admittedly didn’t like that when using a credit card, you have to choose a tip value, or manually input no tip."
"The best New York style pizza in the are. Crast is crispy and always fresh. We tried almost every style. There is no any bad ones. The place is pretty interesting too.."
