"There were three of us and we shared multiple dishes to try. Everything was delicious. Service fantastic."
"Met son Devin and grandsons Alex and Will for lunch at an Italian restaurant in Forestville (about 20 miles west of Santa Rosa). It turned out to be very good. CANNETI - ROADHOUSE ITALIANA I had an excellent duck soup and “Farro Tagliatelle with Vineyard Wild Boar Bolognese and Pecorino” We asked where the “wild boar” came from and to our surprise it is from the Russian River Valley (the wine growing region of Sonoma County that starts at Lake Sonoma near Gyserville, runs south to just above Santa Rosa and then turns west, going through Guerneville to the coast at Jenner). Well, are there really wild boar in Sonoma county? “What is the difference between a wild boar and a feral hog?” The right answer is, “Very little.” The real Eurasian Pig, often called a “Russian Boar,” is the original hog. It was from these wild lines that pigs were domesticated some 10,000 years ago.” However, even if you start with domesticated pig “After only a generation or two in the wild, domestic hogs regain many traits of their ancestors including longer hair and protruding tusks. This is why it is possible to see wild boar in North America in nearly any color and spot pattern common to domestic hogs as well as animals that look very “Russian.” The true Eurasian Wild Boar has longer straight hair and is uniformly colored in dark brown trending toward black.” (outdoordream “dot” org/kb/wild-boars-feral-pigs) Anyway, it was quite good and reminded me of the wild boar that I have eaten in Poland and the Czech Republic (which has a markedly different flavor from roast pork)."
"This is a fine example of California dining with an authentic Tuscan inspiration! Exciting was exceptional. The food was inspired, the wine list is exciting, and every dessert we’ve seen come by makes you wish this meal would never end!"
"Tiramisu is good, but other foods are too salty. Both of my friend and I felt the food was too salty, maybe because we didn't have wine pairing that day."
