"It genuinely hurts to even rate Selena 1 star. I came here based off of her instagram account and I truly wish I would have looked more into her before booking. This is hands down the most entitled, incompetent nail tech I have ever came in contact with. I am never confrontational nor do I ever usually speak up for myself but I am leaving this review to beware other future customers because frankly, this nail tech shouldn’t have any clients. She smacks your hand and tells you to relax? Which makes perfect sense as to seeing previous customers leaving reviews on her being borderline abusive. She told me that next time I should do a longer length as it would “look” better because some people have skinny fingers and some people have fat fingers…like please wrap my head around that comment… She belittles you the entire time and tells you that she doesn’t like to deal with indecisive customers….. i got my nails done and left with a color I later really wanted to change because it’s just not really what I was going for. I scheduled through her link the next day to get a polish change which I didn’t mind paying for by any means because I did pick the previous color but when I went in for my polish change, she literally made it a part time job of hers to literally bully me about wanting to change the color. She told me that “I will learn” to basically pick a color and stick with it as I’m the one spending the money. It aggravated her because none of her “regulars” are indecisive with her so I guess she would have rather made $0 in that time she spent changing the color on my nails rather than me paying her $25 to do so. Given, I know that I could go to so many other nail salons in the Nashville area to get a color change but she was located closer to me and opened up at 11 instead of 12 on Sundays. I usually try to not let rude people get the best of me but Selena is genuinely a evil person with the way she treats customers. Bad reviews might not bother her but they will as there are so many nails techs here and people will catch up on her terrible customer service. If you want to feel like never getting your nails done again, go to Selena!! She will make your time and money spent feel like the end of the world… genuinely….I'm just glad that I feel sane after going to her Google reviews and seeing that I’m not the only one who found her repulsive. Please do yourself a HUGE favor and spend your money elsewhere with a nail tech who prides herself in quality care!!!"
"I am always pleased whenever Selena does my nails! She's always done an exceptional job for me. She's the best nail tech I've had in Nashville. She's a true artist and my nails do not break! Ever! Everyone always compliments me on my nails because she makes them look awesome! Continue to be great Selena!"
"Boy oh boy. If I could give negative stars I would. I came to see Selena to get my nails done after following her for awhile on Instagram and because my normal nail tech was fully booked. I was so optimistic for this appointment, thinking I'd get an amazing service. The opposite happened. Selena was incredibly rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, and left my hands bleeding. For starters, I booked a regular gel manicure with nail art on her booking platform. When I get there and she has already started on my nails, she said she doesn't offer regular gel. Only hybrid. So that means the nail service is already jacked up in price. When I showed sample photos of what I wanted, which included nail shape and different design ideas I wanted to combine, she insulted both myself and the work of the nail tech I showed for inspo. She asked if I'd ever even taken an art class because the colors I chose weren't going to work together. She said she would do the shape of the photo I chose, but "she'd do a much better job at at". Spoiler: she didn't. She cut way too far into my nails which took months to grow out properly. In the end, the price of the service was $118 and she was not transparent about this at all. I also tipped on top of that, even though I absolutely should not have. When I got to my car, I realized my nails were bleeding and my hands burned for days after whenever I would get in the shower or wash my hands. She's lucky I didn't get an infection. I've been getting my nails done for nearly 15 years, and I've never had such a horrendous experience. Avoid Selena and 1st Nail Art at all cost. There are so many other talented nail techs in the Nashville area that will charge less, not insult you, or at the very least leave your hands pain-free with a beautiful manicure."
"I was a very loyal client to this salon until recently experiencing several completely unprofessional and frankly off putting experiences with Selena. A number of my friends recommended her and they are no longer patrons due to her rudeness and lack of professionalism. A client was being serviced during my appointment and then I was told to “hurry up” when asked to make a selection for my design after my hand was jerked around and pulled while telling me to relax for the majority of the appointment. Selena clearly does not appreciate loyalty or care about giving her clients a pleasant experience. Selena is rude and borderline abusive to her clients. BEWARE!"
"Selena has made having nails possible for me and I am grateful! I have had manicures over the years, i've tried dip and i've tried gel, theyre fine, but don't last long and I can't go every two weeks. My nails are naturally extremely thin and brittle and i'm a hairstylist to boot. I"ve been walking around with 'gravedigger' hands all color stained and sad for over a decade, then I met Selena! She uses a hybrid gel technique that literally lasts me 5-6 weeks! My natural nails are longer than they've ever been able to be, the color doesn't get stained from hair color, and theres no edge of the polish for me to pick at (and i still try - bad habits), AND she's speedy and precise as hell to boot. I'm now a regular nail gal and I never thought it'd be possible, who am i!? Thanks Selena!"
