"Besides the long wait, I thought it was a good office until I needed actual work done. She said she didn't see anything with a tooth that was actually hurting me, but wanted to redo a different filling and that I had one cavity. I had SO MUCH pain after the new cavity she "fixed", I couldn't even bite down on an orange without a sharp pain up my brain. I went in a few days later like, something is WRONG. I've never had this pain after a filling. She (the dentist) got an attitude with me, and basically said I didn't understand my own pain and said we'll see if it's better in 6 weeks, and MAYBE I needed a root canal. I was like, you wouldn't have known if I needed a root canal before you did the cavity filling? She said no. If you need a cleaning, the techs are nice, but don't come here for any actual work being done. And after six weeks, I can't even brush my teeth on the right side of my mouth without sharp pains. I don't know what she did, but she messed something up bad, on the side of my mouth that I didn't have any pain before she touched it."
"I rarely leave reviews, or at least positive ones but something needs to be said about Acacia Dental Group. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!!! As someone who has had multiple traumatic dental experiences, I was hesitate to see any dentist even for a basic cleaning. Dr. Southwell and her team are beyond phenomenal!! The entire office is friendly and welcoming. I’ve had two cleanings and two filings done at Acacia and I can confidently say that I’ve never had a bad experience. It’s such an added bonus that they offer evening and weekend appointments! I can’t recommend them enough to anyone looking for a great dentist and especially to those who have had prior bad experiences."
"I was so excited to try this dental practice based on reviews. Unfortunately it was one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever experienced in a medical experience. The front office did not properly schedule my appointments. They also failed to contact me about an office closure. I came in for one of my two appointments and the hygienist informed me what was scheduled. Which was not what I was told would be scheduled. At no point did I tell or ask anyone what to schedule when. I was advised that my dental work would be compl in two appointments with half happening on a Monday and the other half finishing that Friday. At the Monday appointment when I was advised of the mishap I was also informed that not all of the work was scheduled and so some of the work was left off and unscheduled all together. I suggested rescheduling so that they could properly schedule everything and we could make sure things were all scheduled properly. She said she would get it corrected and everything could be done as I was originally told. When the dentist arrived the hygienist informed her that I wanted to add on work to complete that day. As though I was being demanding or difficult. I clarified and explained what happened and again offered to reschedule. Dr. Southwell said they could make it work. Although still no one took accountability or apologized for the error. They reassured they could get it done and I would come back Friday to complete my work. When we finished, and I was walking back to the front the dentist informed me they were closed Friday. Even after reassuring me that I would get my work finished Friday just before they began working and after I offered to reschedule I was not told they were closed and promised something that knew could not occur. The hygienist took me to the front desk and spoke with the receptionist about rescheduling me for the following week. They talked back and forth and after a few minutes the hygienist said she would call me to reschedule. As I made it to my car I got a text that an appointment was scheduled for me - without anyone checking to confirm my availability or anything - for several weeks later. I called immediately and asked to have the appointment cancelled because I didn’t think that was appropriate. I asked for a call back from the office manager or the dentist. They said the office manager was only there on Fridays meaning I would have to wait 2 weeks for a call. I asked if it would be possible for the dentist to call. They said they would leave a note. I never received that call. Yesterday, I got a call about my children’s upcoming appointment and I requested to have it canceled. The person asked why I explained what occurred. They apologized (the only person there to do so). I told them I’d found another dentist. They asked me if I would be willing to speak with someone. I said I’d asked for a call back over a week before and never received it. She said she would leave a note. Today I got a call from the receptionist and I explained that I’d asked for a call from the office manager or the dentist. She said the office manager didn’t get in until tomorrow. I said that’s fine. A few minutes later the dentist called. I began explaining what happened. She cut me off and said she had patients. I reminded her that I was one of them as well too. She then proceeded to suggest I lied about things and that there was no hygienist present when there was. She added that I was difficult. I said that I can’t be difficult if the office makes errors and no one owns up to them. She hung up in my face after weaponizing God to do so in a very typical southern fashion. I want to be clear. I was not aggressive. I did not yell. I called to address what occurred with someone in management to make them aware. I explained this to Dr. Southwell before she called me a difficult patient. I’m disappointed and saddened that this experience occurred. I truly hoped that decency and common sense would prevail."
"What an amazing place. From the front desk, to the hygienists, to the dentist, everyone is amazing. It’s a super laid back atmosphere and they really care about your dental health. You don’t feel rushed at all. I’ve never really felt like I had a dentist I wanted to keep going to, but now I do. Dr Southwell and her team are the best."
"The office staff is very nice and the customer service is great and all but they completely messed my mouth up. I had 2 fillings done by them in October . Even after a month of me having them my teeth were super sensitive but I was on tenncare and about to turn 21 so I don’t know if that’s why I got half treatment but it’s now July and I’m having to get those two teeth extracted. It’s definitely saddening to me because I don’t want that so this review is more for the office than people. Please do better when it comes to doing fillings or just anything in general to peoples mouth."
