Dickey's Barbecue Pit

"WAY overpriced for the quality. Hadn’t been to a Dickey’s in about 5 years. I remember it being a very cheap option for quick bbq. Quality is the exact same but I just paid $18 for a pork plate and drink. You can get far higher quality local bbq for less than this place. I now understand why it was a ghost town when I walked in."

"The food was decent. My wife got a brisket sandwich and I got the westerner sandwich. Both good. For sides we got okra and potato salad. Both good enough, but not great. So why the 3 stars? They had a sign at the counter that said they were out of bone-in wings, fries & baked potatoes. Then the drink machine said sold out on 3 of 8 sodas. There only had sweet tea, no unsweetened tea. When I asked the cashier if I ordered fries online, could I get them. He wouldn’t answer. Why did I ask? Because they were cooking fries and putting them in to-go orders. Baked potatoes too. I guess dine-in customers are out of luck. The ice cream machine wasn’t working either initially. But the worker did stop to assist and got it going after a few minutes. Great. Except it wasn’t very good, it looked like watered down ice milk and tasted awful. I guess for me, this is a one and done. It’s Saturday night… there is no reason except poor planning to be out of so many things this early in the weekend. I hope your experience is better."

"I got the brisket plate, hubby got the 2 meat platter with pulled pork and brisket and our kids got the boneless wings and chicken plate. Our sides included Mac and cheese, baked beans and coleslaw. Brisket was okay a little dry, Mac and cheese tasted like it came from a box nothing special about it. Coleslaw was okay. I like that it was chopped up but to much mayo and not enough vinager. Baked beans were great. We absolutely loved the bbq sauces. They guy who served us was very nice and friendly. Over all it was okay nothing stood out as being OMG I must eat here again."

"The pulled pork was good, but they were out of ribs, and burnt ends by 6pm. Nice staff, clean restaurant. Was quick in and out."

"Honestly I been to a few BBQ places here in east Tennessee I gotta say this one is the best by far . The ribs are so good and meaty the brisket and cheese sandwich so delicious. I loved the BBQ sauce to great taste . The onions rings was good but little on the salty side gotta lightening up on salt for the onions rings but they were good . Sweet tea was perfect it wasn't like you drinking a pound of sugar like other places . Overall this is one of the best BBQ places in book"
