"I've always liked Helen's from the Jefferson street store, but this location is bad. I just got a Hella hot tenders combo and there's something wrong with the seasoning, it tastes like chemicals or soap. Inedible. I've gotten that flavor from the Jefferson store and it was delicious, the Madison tenders taste like concentrated malpractice. Somebody must have mixed the seasoning without fully rinsing out the container. Just hoping the small amounts I ate don't make me ill."
"***Long review*** First off, I'm a huge fan of supporting one's own community, plus I too am a business owner, so this is not an easy review to write. However, Helen's you have got to train your people better! Last year it was the rude girl with the sour attitude taking orders that ran all your customers away. This time it's the sense of common decency that scares me away. Yesterday I ordered take out and headed to the office to eat, only to see that one of my pieces of chicken looked like it was in a very bad condition, it was black and looked as if it was cooked congealed blood. I would never serve this in a cooked form, so I know it looked worse when it was raw. Why would you put that on someone's plate? Makes me wonder if you dropped my food on floor would you have enough respect for me as a customer not to put it on my plate, would you respect me enough to wash your hands before handling my food, or to clean the surfaces that you prepare my food on? The lack of consideration just leaves too much room for me to consider trusting this establishment. There's a mutual agreement between the customer and the establishment, "that once I pay the price you ask, you will give me safe, and good food that I can eat...". I ask would you eat this?"
"I really like Nashville hot chicken and someone recommended I try Helen’s I’m so I gave it a shot for lunch yesterday. The hot sandwich was more like a medium (not unbearable at all) the chicken itself was good but the sandwich was kind of a mess. The cheese wasn’t melted, and the bread kind of fell apart eating it. It’s a better value and option than a chic-fil-a sandwich at a similar price point. It just wasn’t better than the sandwich I had at prince’s or HB’s. Glad I tried it, but it’s my least favorite of the three by a pretty wide margin."
"Being a tourist, Helen's was recommended for some good Tennessee Hot Chicken. We arrived at 11am to find the doors were still locked . After about 5 mins an employee from inside unlocked the doors for us. We were thinking " good we are the first set of customers so everything will be fresh " . As we walked in , it smelled SO BAD that we didn't attempt to order food . The smell was of a old moldy mop , old dirty rags .... just not clean . The employee wasn't welcoming either ."
"Absolutely LOVE the food, ambiance, and atmosphere. The lady Rokeya who took our order was very polite, courteous, and accommodating. Will definitely be back here again."
