"This place was AMAZING!! Certainly one of the best meals I've had in a long time! The atmosphere was a welcome change from the crazy hubub going on down on Broadway! The live Jazz piano was great, and my husband and I could actually have a conversation during dinner! Our server, Santoya was so very attentive, kind and knowledgeable about the menu, and the cocktails! She certainly did not steer us astray. For starters, we ordered the ribeye empanadas! Oh, my... You must order this!! I ordered the crawfish gnocchi, with a shrimp skewer, and my husband ordered the rack of lamb. The gnocchi was not stoggy, but made and cooked perfectly and the cream sauce was divine. I tasted the rack of lamb and it was cooked too perfection. We watched the kitchen team kicking out the orders like pros! Half of the restaurant was booked with a huge corporate party of some sort. They seemed to have that in hand as tray after tray of lobster bisque and salads rolled out for the big party! Gordon Ramsay would have been proud! Well run restaurant for sure!!"
"A nice rustic restaurant tucked away in Printer’s Alley with a bit of a speak easy feel. The ambiance is dark & relaxing. The stage is at the 50 yard line of this shotgun style joint. We sat in what I refer to as the pit in front. There was a Jazz Trio & they were wonderful. Our server Ann was a seasoned vet. She had 5 tables all seat at the same time. Ann handled it like a pro. We were served & greeted quickly. The other associates made sure we had water glasses full constantly. All associates worked together like a well oiled machine. I really thought it was innovative the way the food was ran from the kitchen all the way in the back to the very front & distributed with great team work. I had the diver scallops and they were wonderful. One never feels like scallops could be enough for an entree & they were plenty here. There are 4 scallops cooked to perfection. The sauce was amazing & paired very well with the truffle cheese mashed potatoes. The squash was cut in cubes & cooked to perfection & not “mushy” at all. Ann our server was fabulous & shared some of the history about dome of the famous guest over the years. There have been many distinguished guests over the years such as Sir Paul McCartney, Johnny Cash & many other Country Music Royalty. We made our reservation 2 months in advance which is highly recommended. What a great first experience. We will be back for sure."
"Night of Burlesque at Skulls Rainbow Room. This was 1 of my favorite restaurant experiences ever and will be pretty hard to top. The food was outstanding and 1st time we all had clean plates! Drinks were so good, band was awesome, service top notch, and a burlesque show to boot! Skulls Rainbow Room you have my vote! If you are ever in Nashville this is a priority! They only allow reservations 11 days in advance and you definitely need a reservation. Burlesque show is Thurs through Sunday at 11pm. Make a reservation for 9pm or later and request to be near the stage and you might be able to keep the table for the burlesque show. We ordered NY Strip, Filet Mignon with Shrimp, mac n cheese, Truffle mashed and fries, Fish of the Day, and Wedge salad as well as Espresso Martinis and the lemon cake! All were so delicious! The steak was so good and the butter they gave with it was delicious, we were all dipping our fries and mashed in the drippings. First time we all became members of the clean plate club! Before the burlesque show, they had a Jazz band that was great! Such a historical place! Super swanky vibes! I can’t wait to go back sometime soon."
"This is a true hole in the wall restaurant located down an alley way! A very cool and unique spot to have dinner at but the good thing is the food was really good! Only minor complaint was the chicken (little dry). They usually have live music but also reservations are definitely recommended for this place unless you find a seat at the bar."
