"I towed my car in to get a serpentine belt replaced. They said $175 for labor and the part. I knew that was outrageous but I agreed to it. The next day they told me my alternator was put on wrong and I needed a new battery so my price would be 500 (maybe 500 and something). I don’t need a new battery but the belt is causing the alternator not to charge the battery up. Once you jump the battery, it starts immediately because the battery is still good. I told them that I knew the alternator was in wrong and I knew I needed a belt when I dropped the car off the night before. I only took it there because my alternator was under warranty. However, they were going to take the alternator off and put it back on correctly. The warranty didn’t cover that I guess because she said if it was a covered alternator repair they would need me to give them my warranty info which they don’t ask for when telling me it would be 500. Once they called I told them I’d be picking my car up because that was too much. I got there and was charged $76 for them to tell me exactly what I told them the night before. I just took it to another shop just now who’s fixing both issues for $150 as I type. The hermitage hills brake and auto wanted $320 (minus the $180 battery price). I feel like I was ripped off by the labor fee for telling me what I had initially told them was wrong…I wasn’t about to be ripped off with repairs. My advice would be find another shop. Someone who is fair and honest. I waited for five minutes while the cashier was in the restroom when I could’ve just taken my key and left. *Edit just got my car fixed from Hugo’s and drove about 30 minutes home. They said the only thing that was wrong with the alternator is that it was missing a bolt. Once they put the belt on the battery instantly worked right and the battery warning light went off. The other shop literally argued with me about needing a battery instead of being honest and saying I may or may not need a new battery depending on what happens after the belt is repaired. They would’ve charge me for a battery without actually replacing it. The final fee was $100 (they took off $50 because the alternator didn’t need to be reinstalled) not $320 but I did buy my own $25 belt. Buyers BEWARWE!! Happy New Year!!"
"Brought my car in to get refrigerant evacuated for an AC job I'm doing on the car. They completed the work in less than an hour and were respectful during each conversation about the car. Look forward to going here again when I need work on my car done."
"Quick diagnosis and fixed within a day! Brought my car in near the end of the day to see if they could figure out what was wrong. They figured it out in 10 minutes, they called our warranty company to get their coverage, and had the new part in within a couple days. Great experience! So glad I have a go-to mechanic in Hermitage!"
