"My husband and I tried the empanadas and croquettes at the Richland Park Farmers’ Market today, and they were fantastic! Everything was fried to order, so fresh and the flavors were just incredible. You could taste the love and passion behind the food, 100%. I can’t wait to try more!!"
"Rita, the owner, is fantastic to work with! I reached out about a larger catering order for an event on a week day which the shop typically does not do and she went above and beyond to make our order available on a Thursday. All the food was delicious and individually wrapped and labeled which helped with the ease of serving the food at an event! Highly recommend!"
"Just inhaled all of the goodies in our "Taste of Miami" box, and every single bite was delicious. You can't go wrong, but personal favorites on the savory side include the picadillo empanada and the tequenos. On the sweet side, the vanilla lemon whipped cream cheese pastelita... oh my god. The exact words out of my mouth were, "I could eat 500 of these right now." In fact, all of the pastelitas were home runs. The pastry flavor across the board (sweet and savory) is *chef's kiss*. You have to order ahead, but the pickup situation was very easy. Highly recommend."
"I'm by no means an expert on Cuban cuisine but I grew up eating Cuban Sandwiches, empanadas and pastelitos from the local Cuban spot back home. When I saw that The Salty Cubana was opening in our neighborhood I was stoked! We ordered the Taste of Miami which includes a sampling of the entire menu and was transported back to my childhood with the first bite of empanada. Initially ordered as something to snack on throughout the day, we ended up eating the entire contents in about 30 minutes. It's that good! The empanadas were perfectly crispy and not overcooked nor greasy. (Bonus points for a solid filling to pastry ratio!) The creaminess of the Collard/Cheese croquetas kept me thinking about them long after the meal was done. We ended with the Pastelitos and truth be told they will become a staple for dessert when we start having dinner parties again. The guava marmalade is a nice change of pace and the puff pastry was light and airy leaving us feeling satisfied but not overindulgent. Having tried one of everything on the menu, I can safely say this will be a go-to spot for us in the future. Looking forward to the success of Rita and The Salty Cubana!!"
