Kanpai Sushi Bar And Fusion

"I never ate sushi before. I've tried sushi at other places since eating here & Kanpai is hands down my favorite! I don't eat anything raw, but I'm sure that's delicious too if you like that. This place is a gem!"

"I had a great meal with good service. The restaurant is nice and clean with an upscale interior, which is a nice surprise for a restaurant on the forgotten South side of Jackson TN. The food was fresh, served with good presentation, and was seasoned in the typical American Chinese restaurant style. No surprises taste wise. If you like americanized Chinese and Japanese Steakhouse style cuisine, you'll like this place. My wife and I noticed that their sauces which are served on the side were fresher, more aromatic, with stronger flavors. Add to taste. Their bar is very good as well. They have a full bar with seating and serve drinks at the tables as well. They were really good. Try the Wiki Waki Woo drink or Happy Buddha! Not too sweet and perfectly blended. We'll be back."

"We went to try the 6.5 lbs sushi roll and was not disappointed. I figured it would be gimmicky worth getting just to see the size, which is amazing, but the taste was phenomenal. Would highly recommend, maybe bring about 5 people to eat it."

"Haven’t had sushi in awhile and my brother wanted to go to the movies so we stopped by for a bite before heading to the theatre. I had the Henderson House Roll and was completely satisfied size wise as well as with the flavor and construction of this beautiful and delicious roll. It is amazing without soy sauce because the spice of the jalapeño gives an extra bite to the roll, but adding in the sauce creates a totally new flavor that kept me interested in the roll till my plate was clean. My brother had the General Tso’s Chicken and liked the mix of sauce and breading thickness on the chicken because it was not overwhelming like you would get from a takeaway. We came in at 5:30, were immediately sat when they were relatively busy, and were out before 6:30. Though it initially seems a little pricey, I would say you receive a serving portion of a high quality that is worth the money spent. My only gripe would be that the wait staff was not incredibly attentive to filling up waters, but considering that there was not an empty table in the house when we left I forgive this short fall and would greatly recommend a visit if you are on this side of Jackson and looking for a sushi roll or other Japanese/Chinese dish."

"Kanpai is a fantastic spot in Jackson to go get sushi. Big time underrated and not talked about enough. Been here multiple times and it's never disappointing. Always leave more than full. Prices are fair but the lunch portion was a great size for its value. Taste great and the service was fine. One of my favorite sushi places in the area"
