"A Seafood Feast ! The Seafood Shack was a great find in the Marion Area. I was looking for an alternative to the chain restaurants in the area. I found the Seafood Shack while Googling restaurants in the area. When I arrived at this quaint local spot, it was not quite that busy, and I was seated and served right away. I let the server know that it was my first time at Seasfood Shack and they took their time and helped walk me through the menu. My choices that night started with crispy and tasty fried crab that came with two sauces for dipping. The crab was not too greasy, and the coating was fantastic. My main course was a surf and turf special with Crab Legs and a Ribeye steak. The Crab portion was a healthy size and very filling. The steak was surprisingly good and cooked just the way I asked. The service was great and I received a very good meal at a reasonable price."

"We ordered carry out...it was ready to go when we got there. Fries/A: quite good. Well seasoned and good portion. Fried catfish/B: lacked seasoning (we weren't sure it was catfish either). Slaw/B: better than some. Gumbo/C: big disappointment. While it had 3 big shrimp and 3 mussels that were cooked properly, the sausage was almost non existent. The broth was was tasty but thin, definitely not hearty and lacking veggies associated with gumbo. Just a thin soup....NOT a gumbo and not worth the $. Hush puppies way over priced for what you got. About 2 oz of sauce for the fish which is a joke. The cook needs to read a low country Cajun cookbook and try again."

"Great place and nicely decorated. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. I had the grilled catfish, and some shrimp. Everything was well presented and hot."

"The inside was clean and had its own theme, but we don’t recommend the dishes my wife and I selected: SS house burger, SS ocean bag. Although the seafood (lobster tail) was fresh, the crab boil seasoning didn’t have a good flavor. And the butter seemed to be poor quality. The burger wasn’t very juicy and had an odd flavor as they add Cajun seasoning to it. I will say the gator bites were tasty, however, and the service was great."
