"What a find this place is!! Best meats around this area and great hot foods on weekdays. I purchased two stuffed pork chops, two ribeyes, two pounds of hamburger, and a package of mango something brauts and I've simply eaten every bit of it this week it's so good. Best chops I've ever tasted and I'm from oklahoma where we definitely have local raised pork and beef operations as well, and this place is top notch. Highly recommend, and service is matter of fact and friendly every time. You folks are lucky to have this place available here...."

"It was okay and I do mean just okay. Not the same lunches I used to go outta my way to stop in for. I bought some meat out of the freezer section and am holding out judgement on that until I have cooked it. The lunch was disappointing at best and sold by the pound. Did not impress."

"I'm from out of town, stopped in to grab some steaks for family and friends. They have the basic selection (ribeyes, sirloin, t bone) they have more pork than beef. Very friendly staff, decent prices. The thing that sets this place apart is when I was leaving I asked an employee about getting a bone for my dog. He gave me a great big leg bone without hesitation, which leads me to believe that that is the normal practice for this place. So I definitely recommend this place."

"Small town grocery store in Louisville Illinois under new ownership and renamed Salt and Strings. Super friendly people and the best selection of meats within 30 miles. If you are planning a cookout or just an everyday meal, this is where to go for the main dish. The pineapple/teriyaki brats are to die for."
