Red Barn Retreat and Quilting Center

"I recently spent a few days on retreat at this location. It’s a beautiful spot, nice and quiet. I stayed in the ground floor “sunshine” room. It was cute, but hot. Everyone who came in said it was the hottest room in the house. I can understand that, and it is what it is. However, when the ground floor AC unit froze up, the staff’s solution to the problem was to shut it off for several hours at a time, hoping it would unthaw so they could turn it back on. The AC also froze up in part of the sewing barn and that was handled the same way. It was really uncomfortable. As a business owner myself, I feel a repair service should’ve been called out to fix the problem, regardless of the cost. Instead, we were just expected to deal with it with no compensation whatsoever."

"What a wonderful surprise! I googled "quilt shops" while visiting Lubbock and found Red Barn. I travel a lot, and browse quilt shops all over the U.S. This one is a diamond! It's a short drive from Lubbock-- kind of out in the country --and it's a literal red barn--you can't miss it. It's big inside and loaded with great fabrics. The inventory is very nicely displayed, so roaming through the shop is fun and inspirational. I came away with lots of treasures. Highly recommend."
