"Only reason I'm giving one star is because the flavor of my jerky was good. The meat I got was in little packages saying they were each "1 pound", my jerky is so hard I cannot even eat it, I can literally break it and it sounds like wood breaking. I paid $182 and it took almost 2 months to get it back. Would never recommend this place to anyone."

"Sent over a 230 pound pig to be butchered and packaged. Out of this amount of pig I received 24 packs of breakfast sausage which we requested hot and is not seasoned. We only got 8 packs of bacon which amazes me out of a pig this big and to make matters worse the bacon was rancid when we received it. I called and spoke to a man who was extremely rude and said I had to eat the bacon quickly or it would go bad. My bacon was not shrink wrapped which is more than likely one reason why it went bad. Previously, we used Klemke's in Slaton and I received 40 sausages and 20 bacons on a 180 pound pig. We buy our pigs from the same person every year at the Eddy County Fair in New Mexico. To add to the fire, we sent more the a few pigs to be procssed and I requested the head and it was forgotten by 5 Star apparently. They forgot half of my fathers bacon, sausage and and jowls. They even gave him meat that he didn't order. Many of the individuals who sent pigs had the same complaints. I am afraid that most of my pig has gone bad already. We paid $314 for processing and $250 for the pig. Next year I will definitely be using Klemke's even if I have to wait on my purchase. I was also told by the gentleman that it's not their fault and that we should consume our pig faster. I found that interesting. We are extremely afraid that we were given older meat or event meat that is not from our pig. All in all, we tried to be civil when asking about our orders and we're told it is what it is."

"It has been 6 almost 7 weeks since I took my deer and it's still not done. Call weekly and they say next week it will be done. I keep getting the response of "we're short handed sorry." Horrible experience never going back."
