"My family and I went to Canyon lake and had a good time. It wasn't crowded and it felt like we were on a real out of state vacation. The water was blue and the white rocks gave the lake a really good resort vibe. The drive into Canyon lake was also so beautiful. You see houses on hills. If you are ever traveling to the San Antonio area you have to go here."
"Do NOT recommend! The lake is drying out and the water is dirty and mucky. There are rocky deeper areas for adults or good swimmers but the beach access is dirty brown water and muddy. We will not be returning. We came over 2 years ago and it was crystal clear water but no more. They don't have boat ramps and didn't allow us to bring them through the water."
"I recently visited Comal Park and overall, I had a great experience. The park is well-maintained and has plenty of amenities for a day of fun in the sun. However, I would recommend bringing aqua socks if you plan on swimming in the lake. The bottom of the lake is quite muddy and rocky, so going barefoot can be uncomfortable. Other than that, I had a blast and would definitely come back!" Fee charged $20 local people have different fee ."
"The park entrance lady was very sweet and friendly. The park is so clean and well kept. You can tell that it is really cared for. There are several places to set up and swim but we chose the rock ledge area. We loved it! It is a long rock ledge hundreds of yards long on one side of the peninsula. The park was so clean and well kept. I cannot emphasize that enough. The rock ledge has a natural step that runs along the edge and it’s perfect for sitting or wading. We could see many small fish and my daughter enjoyed trying to catch them. We spent the afternoon diving in from the rocks. The water is pretty deep and neither of us could touch bottom. The water is cool but not cold and it was 100°. Water felt about 72°. The water is so clear you could drink it. I think this would also be a fun place to snorkel. We felt very safe in the water. The location is away from most passing boats. It was like a nature overload. The park wasn’t crowded and there were plenty of places to set up comfortably. We went in a Thursday afternoon last week. Diving in from the rocks felt like a cool rush around my body. I’ve never enjoyed swimming in a lake this much. When we got out, we felt refreshed and cool, unlike other lakes where you feel disgusting and stinky. There is NO FOWL SMELL in this water. It’s like clean cool bath water. Wow! I cannot say enough about this park. We’ve decided to make it a tradition to come every year."
"$20 per car only. You do not pay per head. They do take cash but it has to be the exact amount. Last call for car entree is at 6pm after that they will not let anymore cars into the lake. This is a very nice place was there yesterday. You can BBQ charcoal or propane either or is OK. I took a picture of a grill that was there. It is a nice and clean place to go swimming the water is cold as well. You can bring your own tent, table and chairs. It has kids playground and a volleyball net as well. It has a public life jacket station everyone can use but has to be return when done using. You can not pick up or drop off a person and then enter it has to be a one way trip going inside they will not allow walk-ins and drop offs. There are a lot of spots to pick up your own tent. Everyone minds there own business."
