"What a beautiful spot to stop and clear your mind! I only had the chance to walk a fraction of the trail and I can't wait to go back!"
"Beautiful day of 52° at the park. Huge pine trees and Osage trees with the grounds covered in Hedge Apples. A strange fruit not edible to humans. The apples are very big, between apple to grapefruit size. The bark on the Osage trees is very unique and makes the trees look like they are from Middle -Earth out of the Hobbit stories."
"It's about an hour drive from the West suburbs and there is no entrance fee. I did cycling for about 10 Miles and then took the 3 mile walking trail. My recommendation is to skip the walking trails. It is very easy to get lost and the trail has fallen branches and shrubs all over. Bike trails on the other hand are fantastic. Not very crowded either."
"It's a beautiful State Park. My kids played in the water. The water is not clean. I wanted to wash my hands and feet. But there are no water tab, sink...."
"Great park, really long, 10 mile mostly paved bike path that I loved! Many cool places to sit, hang out at the river or grass. Nice caming sites, very friendly and helpful hosts at the camp sites. Pretty well-maintained bathrooms with showers, warm water. No mosquitoes! No complains :) ...oh there is also cool creek to walk around in, see crayfish, fish, sit by the water"
