Blackhawk Park

"As a resident who's property backs up to the park, it is disappointing to see the lack of maintenance outside the main play area. Grass around the pond will go unmowed for a month at a time, dead trees left standing, and weeds and willow saplings taking over the path around the pond. Instead of waiting for the parks department to mow and having the area attached to my property look horrible, we've just started mowing it although it's definitely the villages responsibility. All they seem to care about is the area with the playground and walking path. Offer there is garbage in and around the pond washing up and making what is a beautiful park really look bad. This is a WONDERFUL amenity to have in the neighborhood, just wish the Parks department cared about it. I've left numerous messages with the department and have never received a call back. Not a very effective way to endear residents into caring about the parks."

"This is a fantastic and family favorite local park. The playground is good for 4-10 year olds. There are 5 swings, 2 baby. A half basketball court, grass field with backstop and a stocked fishing pond. This pond is no joke. The fish range from little bluegill, to bass, to 2 pound catfish. I've seen river and blue cat. The pond is catch and Release only. Please respect that. Please"
