Riverview Park is a popular tourist attraction located on Park Avenue in Alton, Illinois, United States. Managed by the Parks and Recreation Department, this park boasts over 1,400 acres of park space, 12 ball fields, 19 soccer fields, 14 tennis courts, 14 buildings, and 19 playgrounds. The department hosts numerous special events throughout the year, enriching the lives of citizens through quality parks and programs. The Alton Parks and Recreation Department is overseen by the Alton Park and Recreation Commission, which is responsible for budgeting and program planning. The Alton Amphitheater Commission manages the Alton Amphitheater facility, promoting its utilization in line with its original mission statement. The Lucy Haskell Playhouse, a historic treasure in Haskell Park, is available for tours and rentals. Joel Anderson, an Accredited ARS Consulting Rosarian, provides information on growing roses in Alton. For emergencies, the Alton Fire and Police Departments are located nearby. "I LOVE this place, not good for birthdays but amazing sunset views, perfect for outdoor weddings and dog walking, it says it closes but it's a park so it doesn't really close, such a pretty view of the Mississippi river and cliffs and bluff"
"I came here today to check out a new park with my friend along the way to the state park, and I found this quaint city park with a great view of the Mississippi River overlooking St. Charles, MO. I played catch and fetch with my dog, and he got to run around the upper part of the park off-leash. (I recommend not doing the off-leash with your dog if they are not trained for recalls). I sat at the bench overlooking the river for 30-40 minutes, enjoying the view and the weather perfect for the park. This park will be one of my go-to whenever I revisit Alton, IL."
"This is a beautiful park sitting atop a tall bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. There's a cute Gazebo with benches, ready for the next event. Nice place to visit."
"What a beautiful place of peace high above the Mississippi RiverBend! Amazing panoramic view for miles. One of my very favorite sunset spots. The perfect place to launch Chinese Lanterns also. Gotta check it out if you've never been there."
