"Bought beef from here (whole cow processed). The processing and packaging were pretty good. They delivered the beef on time. The owner John was very helpful and managed everything well. However, another younger associate was not as efficient and there were some mixups in the beef cuts/weights. Overall experience was OK."

"Just drove 35 minutes to pick up my quarter beef, had my meat loaded when the owner shows up and said I couldn't have the meat, I still had to pay a locker fee of 401$ and it had to be a check! I spoke to this same man on the phone twice, plus a half page text, and never once spoke of the locker fee or the use of a check!! Sort of a large surprise fee to hit someone with. I asked if he could just bill me for the remaining balance, but he rudely took my meat back. Might be good meat, dunno. But the old guy is losing his grasp, and extremely rude and grumpy. Needs someone to help him run things, and watch him."

"I had a cow and a hog processed here. I live a good distance from this place and it was worth every penny and every mile because the quality of the meat, and the service is incredible. I went and picked up my hog and my wife went and picked up the beef. We were both treated with the utmost of respect and courtesy. We did not have anything but a positive experience. They were friendly, funny, and a pleasure to do business with. I will absolutely get my next hog and beef processed here again, and again. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. I find it humorous that the people leaving bad reviews, are not leaving a poor review for the quality of the meat, but for having to wait for their meat to get processed, or their interaction with the owner. First of all, everyone complaining about waiting, remember, YOU were the customer that wanted a freezer full of meat due to the panic of a shortage due to COVID. Then we have a mad rush and everyone wants their animal processed NOW. You then call the owner with an attitude because your meat is not done, and blame the owner for having an attitude. This is a little ironic don't you think? I don't even know the owner. I live 100+ miles from Elmwood Meat locker. Of course it is taking time to process meat right now because of the scramble for a full freezer, just like the toilet paper shortage, or the clorox wipes shortage. Same scenario. Relax people or go pay 6 dollars a pound at Wal Mart for your hamburger and quit complaining. By the way, I also highly recommend their signature seasoning salt. It is amazing."

"By far the best smoked meat products I have ever had. The staff are skilled, professional, courteous and helpful. The Jalapeno and cheese beef roles and sticks are incredible. The old fashioned beef jerky is also awesome!"
