Big 10 Mart

"Great neighborhood gas station. Nice staff and some cool items that other places don't have."

"I was in the area after running an errand in West Davenport on a Sunday. I wanted a drink and a snack and decided to stop into this Big 10 Mart to satisfy the need for both of these items. Big 10 Mart has been a Quad Cities institution for the better part of my time growing up in the area, but I hadn't been to one in a while. This particular Big 10 Mart appears to be relatively new, or at least remodeled recently. There's many of the trappings of other gas station convenience stores - a couple of shelves of snacks and basic hygiene products down the center of the space, a shelf of automotive supplies in the corner, and a series of coolers wrapping along two walls of the store interior with any number of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available. They also have a small walk-in beverage cooler, The Icehouse, on one end of the store (that's pretty neat). The general architecture of the space is clean throughout. The floors are a relatively new looking square, neutrally colored ceramic tile, while the overhead is covered with a drop ceiling and florescent lighting throughout. There's an interesting feature above the coffee bar on the ceiling - a sort of wooden decoration with metal swirls on it above the coffee bar area. It was interesting - I'd not seen anything like it before, gas station convenience store or otherwise. I soon selected a Gatorade Zero and a small can of Pringles and went to pay at the register. Payment was quick and painless. At the time I had the option of payment from two different available attendants, both of whom were very friendly. If I were back in this part of west Davenport, I'd consider stopping by this Big 10 Mart again for another snack. The employees were nice, the store was clean, and they have a nice variety of both snacks and beverages available. Thanks, Big 10 Mart!"

"Never opens on time or closes early went this morning at 7 :10 am and someone was there but doors were locked again... Why even post the hours on the door if no one's ever there at those times!!"

"Just stopped here to get a cup of coffee. There were 5 employees standing behind the counter talking....but no coffee. Not a problem, I just went down the street to caseys...they have coffee. I guess big 10 mart can afford to loose a customer....."

"Disappointed that the only mitigation measure here is a plexiglass partition during a global pandemic. Employee wasn't wearing a mask, zero signage even encouraging customers to wear a mask or social distance, and zero markings on the floor. For anyone who is making an effort to patronize businesses that employ mitigation measures to assist in protecting community health during this challenging time as we fight COVID-19, don't bother going here, they certainly feel they're getting more business catering to those who don't care."
