"Hard to get a good spot to fish. Heavily overgrown with brush and currents are really strong. I know I'm a bad fisherman but jeez i shouldn't have to rely on having a boat to fish so I don't get snagged on roots."
"Such an awesome lake! Way bigger than I would have thought, and the fish are massive!"
"Great place to fish... Wish Minnesota had good places like this to fish"
"Great fishing spot. Water stays warm year round as it is a power plant cooling lake so the fish grow BIG very fast. There is a nice parking lot and boat ramp. No motor vehicles allowed past the boat ramp so there is a LOT of walking if you want to go to the other sides of the lake. There is a flat gravel road around the lake so it is easy walking. Most people bring a wagon to haul their tackle or bring a bicycle. We caught our limit on catfish the first time out. There are some huge catfish, blues over 50 lbs! 15 plus pounders are caught on a regular basis. There are creel limits (posted at the entrance). Only negatives are the amount of walking, rocks on the banks can be treacherous, and there are no trees for windbreaks or shade. I brought my 13 and 11 year old and they loved it. I would not recommend taking children under 6 as the banks are steep/rocky and a lot of walking, although there is a small wooden dock area younger ones could probably fish from safely."
"Worth the hike to get to the good spots! Our son caught this cat off the hot water side. Plant was down for holiday so water was cool. Ladies, you better be comfortable with "going " outside. Porta-pot is a long walk! Bug spray is a must!"
