"Great hike through the trails at Starved Rock State Park. We hiked in late fall, so we saw the canyons and hils without leaves on the trees. Very impressive landscape. I look forward to hiking the trails again."
"I've never viewed this canyon except from the bluff trail, though it appears others have (there's no marked trail leading into it, just the overlook from near the river, and the bridge the crosses over its waterfall pretty close to the highway). From the bridge (and I'll readily admit my picture doesn't do it justice), it is a L O N G way down and is pretty impressive for that alone. Bit of a hike to get back here, whether you're coming from the Ottawa Canyon Trailhead (from which you can also easily access the Kaskaskia & Illinois Canyons), or the Parkman's Plain lot (closer to Owl, LaSalle & Tonti Canyons), but still worth it."
"Large wooden bridge. Probably a 5 or 6 mile hike from the parking lot. Just keep taking the right hand side of the paths you’ll get to this point."
"Beautiful little canyon. Some of the trails can get very muddy, so it’d be best to hike here when it’s been dry the past few days. Also, these trails seem to be almost 100% natural, so expect moderate difficulty navigating. Wonderful place to visit."
