"Beautiful day for a walk, just watch your step cause of some areas having tree roots sticking up on the paths. Was bummed Tonti canyon was still closed."
"It was totally worth it to get to this point of the hike. If you want to enjoy the place in calm and silence arrive early, you will feel the difference when more people are already arriving to visit. Beautiful germ of the place! Loved it!"
"Like almost all the canyons at Starved Rock, LaSalle Canyon is stunning and impressive in size! The trail to canyon is an easy trek with some walkways with no railing with a decent drop, so keep a careful eye on the kids. The waterfall at the end has an upper portion that is not easily accessed from main trail. Waterfall has space to go behind and when I was there it was roaring (4/8/22)! Tonti Canyon is currently closed so you cannot loop around the other side and have to go out the way you came in!"
"Beautiful experience. The canyon was dry by this time of the year, maybe next time will go in the beginning of summer. Be aware is a lot to walk so it's better to go early to be able to enjoy all canyons."
"Part of Starve rock state park, we missed it last time and went back this year. We were there early around 9am so it wasn't as busy as the past years. I would recommend it, nice hiking paths and the waterfalls was wonderful, you can walk up close to it. Our kids enjoyed it very much they're 3 and 5 years old."
