"I only speculated for the future but got valuable brainstorming with a guy there that was very knowledgeable and steered me in a more sensible direction. Waiting to go back to do it right and see what he thinks of a couple other ideas, maybe. Beautiful place!"
"Great little place. I was looking for some basic organic amendments and could not find them at 4 different stops in Bastrop. They had them here, so I was pretty happy. I came close to closing time so I didn't get to check out the grounds as much as I would have like. I will return for plants in future."
"Jeff the owner was very rude to me over the phone and did some work to my irrigation system when he checked my back flow. He did this work without verifying I wanted it and I felt obligated to pay his $75 fee for the 10 minutes of work he did (charged for the hour) and the $65 for the back flow. I had to have him come back after they didn't close the back flow valve correctly. I'm currently having another issue which I believe is due to his work. I called him several times before getting a response and when he did call back he was very rude on the phone and unwilling to do the work. As a customer I prefer to send my business to people who stand by their work with better customer service. I would not recommend him."
"Buyer beware. I contacted this business for their landscaping services. I was told that if I wanted an estimate it would cost $75 because they do a professional consultation. During their consultation they let me know they didn't actually do most of the services that I had told them I needed on the phone. After 2 months of waiting I had not received the promised estimate. I was finally sent notes that regurgitated some of what I told them I wanted. When I wrote to ask if the quote would be coming soon, they emailed me a rude letter saying I paid for their notes not an estimate and would send me an estimate when I told them exactly what I wanted. I was then contacted by the owner who explained that I misunderstood everything and that I shouldn't be upset. The owner said that she was trying to make amends, but did not offer even an apology and then she wished me well and hung up on me. $75/hr is good wages. I certainly don't make that much."
"They have excellent soil types available for purchase in bulk with excellent prices. I highly recommend the "triple-power" compost. I've used that in my in-ground garden this year with 50/50 native soil and having great success in the fall season. Extensive shop with organic fertilization like earthworm castings, molasses, you name it. But the best is their living compost tea, which they keep aerated. This stuff is the absolute best. Beautiful collection of herbs, trees, and seasonally a garden where they grow vegetables to sell at the Bastrop farmer's market. The place is so beautiful it's worth a trip just to see the design. Inside they also have a small shop with local and natural products, like essential oils and seed packets. Take a look! You can buy their compost by the five-gallon bucket and haul it in thick plastic trash bags if you don't have a truck like me, and the staff can even do all the shoveling for you if you let them."
