Reviews of Cactus Campground
"Has porta potty and trash bins. No shower, closest is at Mesquite site."
"Very nice primitive campground. We stayed in site 76, and it was actually more secluded than it looked on the map. The water spigot was very close to all the sites, and it had nices views all around. Also very convenient for most of the hiking trails. It has a covered picnic table and tent pad at each site. Our driveway had some pretty deep ruts, but we were able to get through in a car. The photos show a ten man tent that filled up basically all of the tent pad. It was very windy some of the days we stayed, and I would recommend a smaller, sturdy tent with good stakes. Our tent did ok, but it did get some small tears from the high winds."
"We loved camping here! It's nearby water and a walk from bathrooms. It's also by a canyon wall that is fun to climb up and around. We were here with 4 adults and 3 kids under 6 and everyone had a good time."
"Small roadside tent camping area near the southern end of the park. Fairly open area, but sites are well-spaced, somewhat mitigating the lack of privacy. Individual sites have shade shelter, fire ring, etc. but water is shared between multiple sites. Biggest drawback is the distance to restrooms, which are 1/2 mile further south at the Mesquite Campground. This and lack of easy access to trails and other amenities makes Cactus less of a destination in itself and more of a secondary spot if other camping areas are full."
