Reviews
"I love this place, BUT , if you take your dog on the gravel bar, there are huge burrs that can get into their feet/fur"
"A hidden gem. Beautiful trails for hiking, though the cyclists can be annoying. Big cliffs to climb with beautiful views and lots to see along the way. Can be an easy walk or challenging depending on the path you take."
"One of my favorite walking areas nearby. Usually a fairly quiet walk along the river, there's a rocky beach when it's not flooded. No swimming allowed. The Al Foster (gravel trail) is a nice long mostly straight path along the river through the woods. There's some old railways and bridges and it connects to other trails like the Rock Hollow Trail. There's also a small sandy/dirt loop on the left side of the parking area that's nice also, less trafficked"
"Great place close to st louis to get some "beach" time. It is on the meramec River so you need to be careful with the current, you will be fine with children if you stay close to the rivers edge. There is one small parking lot that could get full really fast. We will definitely be back!"
"Detoured through here while riding the Al Foster trail. It hasn’t rained in a couple days but the trail still had several very must spots. One was quite terrible and took us several minutes to maneuver past, as it crossed the creek and become quite slick and steep."
