Reviews of Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk
"Our stay at the Sheraton Grand was absolutely amazing! We were coming to the city to celebrate my daughter’s 5th birthday and Suzanne went above and beyond to make her feel special. We got cupcakes, popcorn, a stuffed animal, and a beautiful suite/view!! The location was perfect and the kids were obsessed with the pool."
"My room wasn’t clean upon check-in. I found 3 different articles of clothing from a previous occupant strewn about the room. The AC didn’t work, and my room was exceptionally warm even during the winter days due to the strong sun. The room also didn’t have any hand/body lotion, so I’m dealing with some very dry hands post-checkout. I’ve stayed here before, and this is the worst I’ve experienced with the Chicago Sheraton."
"One of my least favorite places I’ve ever stayed. I slept in a Murphy bed, had no end tables and very few outlets let alone USB ports. The toilet ran every 5 minutes and the shower barely worked as it mostly came through the tub faucet. Absolutely no full length mirror anywhere. Paper thin walls. I could hear my neighbors and people in the hall all night. The wooden table was also water damaged."
"Terrible service. Was put in an accessible easy room as I needed to check in early to take a shower before my seminar at 2pm. When putting the shower handle up back on the wall, it came off as it was cracked. I went to the front desk at 1:30 pm to inform them and 2 gentlemen at the desk told me they would have it fixed by the time I came back. When I came back to the to the room at 9:15 pm, the shower was still not fixed. I went back to the front desk and they said they would send somebody up to fix it. No one came to the room so I called the front desk 9:50 pm, they said they would send somebody up. Still has not been fixed and they will not let me switch rooms. So now I am staying in a room where I can not take a shower for 2 more days. **Edit** They “fixed” the shower at midnight that night. (I had been up since 4 am and just wanted to sleep) Added a picture of how they “fixed” the shower. Basically had a hole in the shower for the 3 nights. Never was compensated for the incident."
"Stayed here recently for 2 nights and was not impressed. The hotel itself is nice, but is in need of some updates. The bathrooms are mediocre at best- I’ve stayed at Holiday Inns with nicer bathrooms. The ice machine on our floor was leaking, and looks like it had been for a while. There was a puddle all the way to the hallway doorway which has carpet in it, and it was soaking wet. There was a smell of mold, which I could not tell if it was from the machine itself, or the carpet that was saturated. Our room had a bar fridge that was no longer in service, and we had to call for a mini fridge to be delivered to the room. I do not understand the point of putting a label on the non working unit that says to call and request a fridge instead of just replacing it with a working fridge. The delivered fridge was not cold and had to be plugged in to cool down to temperature. For the prices you pay to stay somewhere, I don’t think basic hotel amenities should be that difficult. They did get us a fridge promptly sent to the room, and the maintenance guy that put it in for us was wonderful. Parking is expensive, but so is everything in Chicago. If you leave and come back, you have to call to have your new ticket validated which is an inconvenience- there should be an easier way for guests to be able to come and go from the garage. While we were there the drink machine in the garage was out of order, and we had to get drinks from the gift shop- spent $22 on 4 drinks. Overall it gives you a place to sleep, but it doesn’t live up to expectations."
