"I wish I could recommend this company to clean stained furniture. They did such a nice job on a velvet loveseat of ours 8 years ago. Unfortunately, not only did they fail to eliminate glycerine make-up remover spots from a linen fabric, occasional chair, they rubbed off some of the original dye (pigment). The chair was left in such a wet condition that it was impossible to see the original color or the stains when they left. I was told that once it dried the stains would be gone and the upholstery would look the same as before (and the identical chair adjacent to the subject chair). Sadly, this was not the case. Once it dried the next morning, the stains were softened but still there, and the area they were rubbing was decidedly lighter than the original pigmentation of the upholstery. I stopped payment on the check and then called to leave a message notifying the company of the stop payment order and the reason for it. Apparently, they hasn’t listened to the message and only called back after they attempted to deposit my check and were rebuffed. I spoke to Vinnie (who I believe is the owner) and, while he seemed genuinely displeased to hear what had happened, he really didn’t have much of a solution for me. According to Vinnie, linen upholstery is very difficult to clean, and I probably have to get the original fabric from the store I purchased the chair to have it reupholstered. Hey, I knew the fabric would be a challenge. That’s why I called professional cleaners after I had lightly tried with some Oxyclean and Woolite. I may not have resolved the stains, but I certainly didn’t take off any of the original dye. I wish once the technicians realized the material was linen with the knowledge that these were oil-based stains, they just didn’t attempt to treat the chair because their friction and whatever cleaning substance they rubbed on the seat of the chair removed the original color."
