McCracken County Humane Society
About the Business
The McCracken County Humane Society, located at 4000 Coleman Road in Paducah, Kentucky, is a nonprofit organization that has been in operation for over 60 years. They accept owner surrenders of healthy and adoptable animals within McCracken County, as well as animals brought in by Animal Control. These animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated before being made available for adoption. The staff at the shelter work with volunteers to provide essential training techniques using positive reinforcement methods, making the animals more desirable to potential adopters. One of the animals currently at the shelter is a friendly and sweet dog who loves kids and attention. She is spayed, vaccinated, and ready to find her forever home. The mission of the McCracken County Humane Society is to provide a healthy and safe living environment for unwanted animals and promote their adoption into loving homes. Donations of monetary funds and pet items are gladly accepted at the shelter.

"Staff were friendly enough. Not allowed to go back to see the pets up for adoption. I would have liked to see the living conditions of the animals there. Downside was having to use a tablet to pick what animal you wanted. Positive side was the adoption process. Staff were helpful when I had questions or needed to clarify things when filling out the paperwork. They did have all the information I needed in terms of shot records for the vet. 3 stars because of having to use a tablet to pick an animal as well as not being able to go back to where they are kept to interact and see living conditions."
"Could not have asked for a better companion. We were lucky to add Yoshi to our family."
"Kinda Disappointed That We Couldn't Walk Through The Kennels. You Must Find Your Choice By Tablet...Then A Team Member Will Bring Your Choice To You."
"ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Drove over an hour to get louie. called yesterday they said he was available. come today friday sept 22nd. 10:30 stood outside for 30 minutes with the door locked. the lady answered the door was very very rude! told us louie was adopted yesterday but didn’t tell us when we called yesterday! the place is posted it is open. and the lady told us it was not. how do you except people to adopt animals when you say you are open but aren’t open! terrible way to do business. very unhappy people trying to adopt an animal!"
"Staff was friendly and helpful. We got to visit with the pets to see which one would be a good fit with the family. They told us of the pet's medical history prior to adoption. Very pleased with my experience there."
