"I hate that I have to give him 4 stars because he did get us more back than I thought we would get, but I'm a little angry at how long it took. Our appointment with him was on February 16th where we took in all our paperwork. I didn't get called until April 16th that they were ready to be picked up and that he had to file an extension. April 19th I went in and picked them up, wrote a check for his services, and mailed our state and federal the next day, April 20th. However, the check I wrote him did not clear until October 8th and our federal taxes finally hit our account on October 11th. Found it rather odd that we didn't get our federal taxes back until after the check I wrote him cleared. I thought it was odd that every time I looked on IRS.GOV to check the refund status, nothing was on there at all so does he "hold" our federal until his services are fully paid for? Like is there a button he has to push on the IRS end to say "yes I got paid now you can pay them"? Or is it because he had to file an extension and that's why he waited to cash our check? Either way, we should've been informed on April 19th when I went in to pick up our paperwork how everything was going to go down. I tried calling his office several times to get answers as to why we hadn't gotten our refund and why the check hasn't cleared that we wrote to him, but no one called me back. Overall, yes he did a good job on our taxes, but I feel like he could do better with correspondence; especially when you're dealing with people's money."
