"Sylvan has been a blessing beyond words. My husband is Active Duty and we are stationed on the other side of the country from our son (who lives with his mother). We tried for many years to be actively involved in his education, to no avail he was struggling terribly in school. As he entered 8th grade with terribly low self-esteem we took him to Sylvan and he tested at a 2.5 grade level, and a counselor told me that my expectations were too high as I expected C’s or better. Lisa and her team worked closely with us and him, within 6-9 months of extensive tutoring he was at grade level or higher. His self-esteem sky rocketed. He then moved to “homework help” twice a week and maintained his grades. For the Fall semester of 2018 he had all A’s and B’s and one C at a 79%. We are so proud of his accomplishments. Due to weather and various reasons he missed multiple days in January with the lack of consistency his grades and self-esteem began to suffer, again. I contacted Lisa at Sylvan immediately, the team again has worked with us to bring his grades, from a few D’s and F’s, back up to A’s and B’s with two grades at 77%.
