"Dr. Perkinson and I worked together years ago. He was my personal physician and I summarily moved my entire family over to his practice. I’ve never worked professionally with anyone more enthusiastic or curious about medicine. He gave my father and grandparents years more than they’d have had otherwise. *He found my grandmother’s cancer and recognized that my father was moments away from an aneurysm. My grandfather had been days from dying but Dr. Perkinson recognized that his PCP had prescribed a medication that had caused a rare side effect and would have ultimately led to his death. I only wished he’d start a practice nearby! I’ll never forget his kindness and dedication. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore. I have yet to find a doctor nearby that I fully trust. I think Dr. Joseph Perkinson might’ve set the bar far too high! -Kimberly Wiggins (formerly Nobbe)"
"Called to schedule a new patient appointment for my husband who urgently needs an established PCP for insurance purposes. (Urgent because referrals are required for various follow up appointments in regard to procedures he recently had due to a very unexpected heart attack at 22 years old). I spent 2 minuets total on the phone with this Doctor. I quickly explained the situation (IN LESS THAN 2 MINUETS) just for him to reply with "Love the story but you are wasting my time" and got on a soap box about how I could've just said that my husband needed to be seen today instead of wasting his time explaining the situation. If a two minute phone call with a new patient expressing their urgent needs of your assistance is a waste of your time - you are not the doctor we need. I understand Doctors are busy and we were not looking for a friend... but complaining about a less than two minute phone call is unacceptable. From the phone call I learned that he lacks professionalism and empathy... Honestly just rude. I cannot speak for his medical practice or knowledge... maybe he is great doctor. But our quick phone call was enough for us to choose elsewhere."
"I don't know how many years I have been seeing Dr. Perkinson, but I do remember my first impression of him. He walked in and greeted me as if I were an old friend. Dr. Perkinson has an excellent bedside manner! He listens to you and carries on a conversation showing true concern and attention to your thoughts and feelings. In short, he cares. I really appreciate his explanation of my condition, the causes and remedies, and put complete trust in his care. Dr. Perkinson is a rarity in today's world. You feel he is more than your physician, you feel he is your friend."
"Best Doctor I've ever had in my more then 30 years in The Woodlands. Anyone not rating him highly definitely is their own problem since he takes care of ALL my Family and many friends, non of which would trade him for anyone else. Very professional and takes more time then anybody I've eve. Seen."
"I didn't even see him. He called me before my appointment and because he looked at history and saw I was on controlled medication he wouldn't prescribe any. I did move here a few months ago. Although I have medical problems that cause me to be on them. He basically called me a drug seeker. I hung up and cancelled my appointment. No one should be discriminated against because of the medication they take. Thanks for making me feel even worse. He obviously cares nothing about patients. Let's not bother to listen and find a solution before judging someone."
