Reviews of Uplift North Hills Preparatory
"honestly all this school does is overwork you in the hopes that it’ll prepare you for college, and yes I do seem like a whiny student complaining about a really good school, but overall the school just makes everyone in it tired, I can notice the amount of stress in everyone's faces from my peers to teachers to even myself. If you can't be kept on a clear firm of consistency with your education, then seriously please do not come here. But you don't have to listen to me, listen to other people first."
"North Hills, is a great school and i have been in this school since kindergarten and it is a enjoyable school, but there are flaws. There are lots of bugs in classroom, and when I was in primary whenever somebody would get a book off the bookshelf they would see a bug.One of the most important things is that the food there is horrible. The food is catered by Twelve Oaks Catering the food is not pleasant, I have seen my red apple be green on the inside not organic at all! Overall North hills is a great school with great teachers (well not all great),good people, and the education is good as well. The scholars are great and you WILL get friends. This is a good school to intend to. Edit (September 6th 2018) so its been over a year since I've made this and ALOT has changed, Like the whole school we got a whole renovation and in my opinion I HATE it, it's because I kind of liked the old style for some reason it felt original and not something else, so far this year has been pretty good except the lunches still some people like it some people hate it, well now I think its ok. BUUTTTTT overall our school is pretty nice also a teacher told a student to burn in hell because he did dog ears to a book and she got pissed at him"
"I guess people think that just because it is a charter school it's a bad school. That's not true. This is a good school! It's just the students who are bad and don't pay attention. "It's not the school that makes the student better, it's the student who makes the student better." You can go to the worst school in the world and still get into Stanford. I promise you that. All you have to do is work hard and have hope. Remember, the future belongs to those who believe in it."
"Do you want your kid to over-stress, develop hypertension, depression, and insomnia from extreme academic pressure when they're not even in college yet? Do you want your kids to think that life's success and happiness are proportionate to academic excellence so they stay in a cut-throat, dog-eat-dog just to be "someone" when they grow up? Do you want your kids to never have friends and absolutely hate their childhood? Then maybe you should send them to North Hills Prep. Fortunately for me, I have been able to escape this depressing place and move to another IB school that takes time to at least CONSIDER their students' feelings."
"north hills is an interesting place to be. I was a new student 3 years ago and I had high expectations, many of those fell short. First, do not come here expecting a "normal" high school experience. There is no football team, no pep ralleys every week, a marching band, or cool classes/clubs. If you're an art major, a sports lover, or a music/band/orchestra lover I recommend finding another school. If you're a very academics focused person, then North Hills is the place for you. But be ready for a myriad of tests and the work that comes with the school's IB program. Be ready to be defined by your grades and your rank. Also, making friends is really hard. Most other new kids I know said that their first year was the hardest and they were right. Many of the other students have been friends seen elementary school and have no interest in making new ones. This is not a school for everyone and if you're not ready for this small school and it's many tests, I would 100% recommend trying some place else good luck! :)"
