"Brian was recommended by our now retired tax professional. To date he has provided great service. He has late hours and two locations which makes it easy to file. He is a very straight forward guy was a Marine and he takes great care of veterans. He can be hard to talk to during the "non" tax season, but is fairly quick to respond to emails."

"I drove from Peoria to East Moline to have Mr Geerts prepare my taxes. He took over the business of a tax preparer I had for many years when she retired. I trust her and if she trusted Mr Geerts then so did I. I had to make a second trip to East Moline for Mr Geertz to complete my taxes as I did not have all the documentation he needed. As we agreed I emailed the documentation to Mr Geertz. I made a second trip to pick up my taxes and to pay Mr Geertz for his service. My taxes were not ready. No worries. I paid Mr Geertz and he agreed to mail me my taxes that evening when he completed them. Two weeks went by and I did not receive my taxes. I called his Davenport office They sent me to his Moline office. They told me the taxes had been mailed and returned. They did not know why. I verified the address with them and asked them to next day air the taxes. The secretary said I would have them by Friday. It was Wednesday. The following Monday I still had not received my taxes. I called again. The secretary seemed confused. She did not know who I was or who I had talked to. First she said the taxes had not been mailed. Then she said they had been mailed and returned a second time. I again verified my address and pointed out that it was on the tax forms. She said Brian would email me the taxes. I told her I would drive up and pick them up Asap. When I arrived approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes after our phone conversation she pulled the taxes out of a file drawer in a filing cabinet. I was asked to sign two documents so they could be electronically filed. I don't believe there was ever any attempt to mail my taxes. In light of the dishonest way I was treated I will have another CPA review my taxes and file any necessary amendments. I will NEVER use Brian Geertz for my taxes again 20-June-2017 Update: I have recently learned that my state taxes prepared by Mr Geerts were never filed and I worked in both Illinois and Minnesota. I paid the tax I owed in each state but the actual return was never filed. I wound up taking everything to another CPA and I am still working to straighten out the mess! So ... let me repeat ... Do NOT use Brian Geertz to do your taxes."
