"I'm a former employee that was fired for no reason just like the other 20+ people before me. They are cheap pools that the liners are held up with tape. Owner doesn't even know the names of his employees. I would never do anything with any of his companies. Like how the owner is blaming me but was never there an miss Molly I was on break trying to fix the welders but you know I don't know jack as the owner is telling the driver the Trans is ran by air on a automatic good job Mr owner hope your company goes under with that new building"
"My wife and I reached out to Ecopool about an 8x20 pool in Austin, TX in April 2022. My wife Virginia Fay Pack posted a review earlier this week, and Ecopool responded. This review is both my experience and to clarify some points from their response. Ecopool’s dates on the contract signing and deposit are correct. We attempted to pay the deposit for several weeks prior to that, but our rep was unable to provide us with any option other than wiring, which wasn’t possible for us as our bank is out of state. Once we were provided with a check recipient and an address to mail to, we sent a check within the week. We did have a good deal of communication with our rep prior to paying. Though he did not have the answers to the majority of our questions, he was not unresponsive initially. In reference to our repeated questions about trailer companies, he emailed on 5/25/22, “Here is a list of popular trailer places. I'm not sure if all are rental places. This is the best list we could come up with to help you.” We contacted all 6 of them, and they either did not answer, did not rent trailers in the size needed, or did not rent trailers at all. Ultimately, our issue is not with this rep’s inability to answer our questions, but with Ecopool as a company, including the presumed lack of training and oversight that led to this customer service. After paying the deposit, we heard from our rep only in response to our reaching out to confirm the check had been received and deposited. We emailed to inquire about the timeline for pool delivery on 6/23/22 as our tracking showed the check had been delivered, and he replied on 6/24/22 saying Ecopool received the check, but did not give an estimated delivery for the pool and did not ever update us after that on an estimated delivery for the pool. That was the last we heard from him. Between that time and canceling our order on 7/6/22, we did deeper research on Ecopool and heard information from a local landscaper and other customers that made us uncomfortable doing business with Ecopool. Based on what we learned, we emailed our rep telling them we wanted to cancel. Someone else from Ecopool replied to our email saying that our rep was no longer with the company, which we had never been informed of. When we spoke with this new person, we told them first via phone and then via email the reasons for canceling our order, as stated above. We were put in touch with another rep, from whom we again requested testimonials, photos of installed Ecopools, and contact information for contractors and dealers they’ve worked with. Though we did finally receive photos of a pool, they did not share any of the other requested pieces of information, and our research still made us too uncomfortable to proceed. When we reiterated the reasons for canceling the contract, they never replied and we were forced to contract an attorney. Our order did not have “many customizations” and we heard from other local suppliers that Ecopool had other unfulfilled orders for the exact pool configuration. Ecopool came up with an interesting theory about our building permit. We're quite aware of the reasons our original permit application was not accepted, and we are re-submitting, which is very common. We will be installing a pool, but not via Ecopool. If there is any unpermitted work on our lot, it was not performed by us and it was done prior to our purchase of the home; most importantly, it’s completely irrelevant to our relationship with Ecopool and saying it here in this public forum is another effort by Ecopool to damage us. I would absolutely agree that honesty would have gone a long way in this situation, as would avoiding bullying. The contracts Ecopool uses are not consumer-friendly and we have valid legal reasons for challenging the contract’s enforceability."
"EDIT 9.13.22: To clarify the points Ecopool raises in its response, please see my husband Will Pack's review. In April 2022, we reached out to Ecopool about an 8x20 pool in Austin, TX. We were connected to salesperson Cody Carr, who was nice but had very little information on the pools themselves, installation, or delivery. For example, when we asked how their other customers have transported the pools from the Ecopool facility to their project sites, Mr. Carr advised us to “google truck companies.” My husband, Will Pack, is a contractor and planned to facilitate the installation. He visited the Ecopool facility and the demo pool they showed him looked in order. So, we chose to move forward with placing a deposit, as this was also the best price we had found, and we liked that they were a local company. After we placed the deposit, there was a complete lack of communication (in contrast to the daily phone calls we were getting before they had our money). Mr. Carr was our only point of contact, despite our requests to be put in touch with someone else to get our questions answered. When we reached out to Ecopool, they told us Mr. Carr had been fired, but no one had notified us. Given the lack of communication, and after hearing some information from another local landscaper about the company and doing some research on the owners, it was enough to make us extremely uncomfortable with ever installing an Ecopool at our home. Since we had heard nothing from Ecopool since placing our almost $20K deposit (which was more than they should have taken to begin with as we changed the original order to remove the heater), we wrote just a couple months after placing our order to cancel our order. They said they were unable to refund us as the pool was already in production, but refused to show us any proof whatsoever of this (photos, video, allow us to visit the facility, etc). We also had heard from other local suppliers that Ecopool has multiple other unfulfilled orders for the exact pool configuration we were canceling. Because Ecopool would not refund us any of our deposit or communicate with us in any way about canceling the order, we were forced to hire an attorney. Our attorney was able to recover a portion of our deposit from Ecopool, but thousands remain unpaid. It is our view the contract is unenforceable because, for one, it allows Ecopool to delay delivery of the pool indefinitely, essentially giving it no duty to perform. Further, the official address for Ecopool in the contract does not accept mail, as our legal letters were returned as undeliverable. We want to warn anyone considering contracting with Ecopool to take this information into consideration before signing contracts or making payments."
"When you get personal contact with the business owner and his wife throughout the entire sales process and afterward to ensure you’re satisfied with your investment, it speaks volumes about the company and the character of the individuals who are employed as well. Everybody we’ve had contact with at EcoPool has been courteous, professional, and reassuring us that they would see us through to the end and thereafter for quality assurance. I’m so glad I chose EcoPool and I can’t imagine ever using anybody besides them in the future for our backyard improvements on other properties."
"After researching different shipping container pool companies, I selected Ecopools because they are built in Texas and initially the response with a detailed brochure and online tool were great. I should have known when the first sales person took months to get back to me when I asked just basic questions. After a new representative, Mark, was more responsive I placed my order which requires a 50% deposit. I was told 4-6 weeks to build from time of deposit and that we would have to get a local contractor and have him go to Texas (we are in Arizona) to get the pool. Everything seemed fine until we past the 6 week mark and were very reasonably asking for a time window/date for completion since we needed to arrange transportation, which isn't a simple thing, and we also need to line up a crew to install. They have not been responsive at all...no window of dates, no updates. They have 20K of our money and still have not given us any date for completion. They won't even send us photos to show progress, claiming they have patented systems. They also won't allow a local friend in Texas to look at our pool. We have spent tens of thousands of additional dollars getting our yard ready for the pool to be in-ground and the space configured per their specs. It has now been DOUBLE the time they originally quoted and are not at all apologetic. I've emailed or called every other day for over a month and have not had any update. I have asked for the name of the owner and have not gotten any information. All they say is "when the factory tells me it is 10 days out I'll tell you". That is totally unacceptable and our family is now even questioning if this is a real business. I was hoping to be a great case study for them in Arizona but instead I am now very frustrated and have no idea if I'm even getting a pool. The other reviews have no detail and if we don't hear back soon we will have to assume this is some sort of scam then we will be calling the police. I hope this is a real business and someone senior/the owner sees this and helps us resolve it ASAP."
