"Technician arrived on time and determined the issue with furnace was the thermostat. He appeared to have some difficulty with wiring, then said he needed to go to a store. Came back and installed a (cheap) round thermostat in place of a previous rectangular one. As you can see, the new thermostat does not come close to matching the footprint of the old one and now we are left with gaping holes and will have to replace it with something more appropriate! Disappointing. Also, this basic service required two hours to complete. This was January 20, 2024. UPDATE (2/17/24): Previous issue began recurring about a week ago. Gilberto arrived as scheduled. As we'd previously suggested, he determined the flame sensor was bad. Replaced sensor (very easy if you know what you're doing) in about 10 minutes. Very happy we have a home warranty. Callbacks for the same issue are no charge to homeowner, just inconvenient."
