"This was, by far, the worst grooming job ever done on my little Schnauzer. I did not expect greatness as we live in the country with burrs and dead grass, and I asked for him to be cut shorter than normal to reduce the matting and tangles. But I did not expect the chop job and poor shave-down he was given. He was not bathed, some toenails were trimmed, not all. His bangs are choppy and uneven. He was the only dog in the shop and she started on him with clippers immediately, which shocked me. I’ve worked in a grooming shop and this was not normal procedure. A dog is always roughed out and bathed before clippers. I dropped my dog off at 1:15p and she didn’t call for pick up until 3:44p. As he was the only dog in the shop, I don’t understand why he was made to wait in a cage for so long before I was notified. When I picked him up, I was asked if I’d “like to give Chelsea a tip….” I hadn’t even been allowed to see my dog to see what kind of job she did. Never again will I tip a groomer before seeing my dog. But honestly, I don’t understand why an employee of a major retail corporation like Petco needs a tip at all. Hitting the customer at register to tip employees is just classless. Update: I have found that the groomer cut my dog’s toe while trimming his toenails. She could’ve told me she had difficulty trimming his nails. My dog has always been very good about grooming, so I would’ve been alerted to look for a problem. Instead I was left unaware as he stayed sensitive about his foot. Now it’s infected and he will to be seen by a vet. This could’ve been completely avoided by honesty and transparency."

"Love Chelsea. Service when we go in is okay, last time they told us they were understaffed which is reasonable. Chelsea does a great job with my malamute but be careful on their upselling. A deshedding shampoo is $40.00. I sent my partner in and he didn’t realize they added that then signed the paper consenting and therefore no refund on it. All makes sense just be careful choosing the add-ons. I get my 65lbs dog groomed for about $120."
